The 20% coupon was only available during black friday. It's too late to get it!

I can't believe this is still a deal. I bought this camera 7 or so years ago for $350, its considered ancient in technology world.
Sounds like you got mixed up with other camera or perhaps typo. This camera was released in Nov 2015 according to Google. So it is about 4 years

Is it just the camera or the bundle
It's just a base + 16-50mm lens f/3.5-5.6 OSS

I've owned both. The one thing the t6 has going for it is access to cheap canon lenses. Besides that, the t6 feels dated with an old processor.

The t6 really struggles with its weak processor. For example, it can't continuously focus when recording video https://static.slickdealscdn.com/images/smilies/eek.gif Which makes video pretty much unusable on the t6. Photos are fine

The a6000 is technically older than the t6, but the components inside are better - especially the processor. Also, if you plan on getting more invested into cameras in the future, you can reuse lenses from the a6000 on the rest of Sonys lineup, like the a7 series.
I appreciate your detailed answer. Thank you so much!

You should qualify that with the fact that they'd need to buy full frame lenses. a6000 is an APS-C camera, if they buy lenses specifically for it, they won't work on the a7 series. I mean they will, but with a huge amount of vignetting, or they'll have to use crop mode, and effectively reduce their images' resolution by a factor of 1.6 making the a7iii for example a 10mp camera.

Can you use the coupon online AND in-store? I know in past years that worked for sure.

Is it best to wait till Sunday for the 10% off Target gift cards? That way you can stack it with a 20% off coupon?

Can someone with photography experience chime in on this camera vs latest mobile phone? (i.e., Note 10 Plus/ iphone x?) With the advanced camera in virtually all smartphones, are these standalone cameras still a viable option? From the Youtube videos I've seen, the Note 10 Plus camera actually captures better/brighter/crisper photos.

Depends on what one considers better. In full auto modes the phone will be better. Standalone cameras give a lot of control over how the photo is taken, which also makes it easy to mess up and take bad photos.

When it comes to photo quality, the a6000 will be better as long as the right settings are used, and the photos post processed.

Don't forget to pick up a lens hood. It will block stray light.

True...5 year old cam.. but looks like it's very highly recommended and still selling hot.. Sony must've got it right for it to be still in demand. For the price it's great value for money and great for stills. For video, I guess 6400/6600 would be the choice.

To add on, to bring the true beauty, one apparently need prime lenses like 35mm 1.8f or it's 50mm cousin... or the G lenses... Kit lens is just meh.
