I had a 20$ military discount (they also have teacher and student codes). Plus sign up for their email and get a $25 off coupon in the email. I got it for $322 plus tax yesterday. Still best I could find anywhere. Also discounts work on the $499 version.

Dang! Back-ordered 2 to 4 weeks. This is my son's big want for Christmas this year. Not only are deals hard to come by but almost nobody has stock on these.

The quest is GREAT if you don't have a PC with a GTX960 or better in it, and you value portability over quality and long term cost. But....
...if that's not you, and you want BETTER & CHEAPER, that thread has a list of the Best VR Headsets.

Does the quest work with a gtx970? That's what I have from a few years ago still.

Not exactly... Check the link in the top post.

What I heard and the link in that list says, is it's a TBD features, still lower frame rate and quality, AND it was rumored that Facebook/Oculus said they would RESTRICT which games can run over the wire anyways!

So it's still limited quality and games, at a higher long term cost. But portable is very important to some people, so maybe not a bad choice for you, as long as you consider the other options first.

Better than most deals out there.
$403 incl tax and FS after $25 coupon.
Minus Cashback of $40 should make it $360
Minus signup bonus of $10 for Rakuten.
$350 ... pretty solid

Thank you Parafly for the deal and more importantly for your service!

Where did you see that they are going to restrict games? I haven't been keeping up too much with the news, but from what I've seen is the Quest would have access to the whole Rift library. Or did you mean just when playing on a gtx970?

You are correct. They straight up said it will function as Rift. They aren't restricting anything. Not all GPUs are officially supported yet but a lot do work. The oculusquest reddit has a link to a spreadsheet where people are posting their setups and if oculus link works or not.

Given it has SteamVR Support, I'm not even sure how they can really restrict which games play unless they are Oculus Exclusive.

I love my quest. I pretty much only play beat saber but it's worth it for that alone.
