What do you mean? There are multiple versions?

there are UK versions + US versions; both obv have various editions + publication dates and perhaps different working b/c of American English vs British English

perhaps comment was about movie?

it's actually pretty interesting what was cut out of book, there were more naughty kids + Dahl wrote chapters "mirror backwards" not published in book (found in his desk not too long ago)

love this book + of course the 1971 movie!

thx OP!

How much longer before this book is in the 'public domain'? I feel like I have such a backlog of books and movies that this would be a waste of $2 although I'd like to own it.

Decided to do the digging myself so hopefully I'll actually retain this knowledge. The answer is 95 years. 'Charlie' was published in 1964 so it won't enter the public domain until 2059. I may not live that long but hopefully I'll get around to reading this purchase a couple of times before then.
