Currently at 2.05% with no monthly fees if you keep a small balance or have monthly transfers. Seems really high for a "namebrand" bank. I kind of wanted to go with a well known company instead of these random savings accounts I've never heard of.

Looks pretty good right? Any better namebrand high yield savings accounts out there?
Good deal?

Not available in all states (like NY, NJ, Florida lol). Citibank is a really shitty bank in general so no loss imo. Probably trying to suck you in for a few tenths of a point for a month or two and then lower the rate below their competitors. You can get 1.7/1.8% or better from a lot of banks.

I was interested in going with them because I have the Costco Citi credit card. Would sure be nice to not have to throw a 4th bank (for my finances) in the loop to keep track of...

What difference would it make? The statements are different and personal finance software will keep track of\organize it. There is absolutely no inherent advantage to getting a bank account from the same place you have a credit card with. If the bank offers you something extra that would be another matter, but here they are offering you the same as everyone else.

And they are one of the worst banks around imo. This is very unusual for Citibank to offer anything resembling a competitive rate...so don't be surprised if they lower the rate to 0.5% 2 months after opening your account lol.

So looks like CIT, Ally, or Discover are some of the most popular choices...currently around 1.7-1.8%. Are those all pretty good banks to go with for savings?

Tab was another one with higher interest, but doesn't seem to get very good reviews.

Take a look at Briodirect. https://www.briodirectbanking.com...d-savings/ They are part of Sterling Bank. Current rate as of 12/5/19 2.20% Just make sure you write down your new account number because they only show part of it on your statements. Pain to call CS to retrieve.

Ally and Discover are both very reputable banks with good reps imo.
