well thats new.

nice! its zigbee as well rather than wifi or something proprietary.

Too bad the keypad is a separate item rather than built in

This is pretty much the same in functionality as August Smart Lock Pro.
If you want keypad as part of the system, might as well go with Shclage or Yale. They will be more expensive because you will have to replace the deadbolt as well.

I've always wanted to get one of these...

but does this mean I have to always leave the door knob unlocked? (since the automatic lock only attaches to the deadbolt lock on top)

thanks!

Yes, unless you want to unlock that with a key all the time for some reason. This can't unlock a "knob" lock.

Thanks! Smilie

Do you think the Wyze automatic lock can fit over my deadbolt like this one?

My house came with that deadbolt when they built it.

Actually this replaces the "thumb-lock" part, and does not simply slip over it like August. I thought it did as well, but after looking at the install, you keep the exterior key plate, but remove the interior thumb piece and replace it with their mechanism.

Cool, but this should be a PSA, not a slick deal, as this is the regular price.

Yeah, look at that! I had an "Okidokeys" lock that installed the same way. Worked fine.

Despite it being Zigbee, it only works with the Wyze hub. They haven't mentioned if it will integrate with other other hubs.

Someone from Wyze posted this when they said the same thing.

"A few differentiators for ya:

Wyze Lock is the only lock that can turn your lights on.

We have built-in door position detection. Door Sense (which August has) needs a hole drilled in the door or a magnet in place. Wyze Lock doesn't require any drilling. Door position detection is a technological advancement.

Also, all of our locks ship also with the gateway."

No idea. Wyze replied to a comment on their YouTube video that it will not connect to other Zigbee hubs.

Been waiting for this. Looks great to me. I have slowly been moving all our various brand Smart & Security devices to Wyze, with Alexa controlling it all. Simply can't beat the price. Now just patiently waiting the Exterior Camera and Doorbell.

I'm pretty sure it's the same. The only difference I see is the lock mounting. It is screwed to the plate unlike August - You have to slide down the flip wing on the sides.
August also has a plate that you have to screw on to the deadbolt to keep the key side tight to the door. Otherwise everything would just wiggle.

I may be wrong... but there's not much difference I could tell as far as mounting.
