S10 for $400. It's a good deal

My tmobile basic plan "Essential" charges $70 per month, too high

will transfer to Cricket for $35 per month

Thank you OP.

It's a pretty good deal except you need to port in and pay $55 for a month's service, plus tax, so it is effectively $500 for a Cricket-variant of the phone. The other deals were yielding around same $500 price for an unlocked.

the $55 min plan is a deal breaker for me or else good deal for people paying more than 55 per line. any work around to get it without paying $55 for 6 months?

The $55 plan is just required to order. After the first month, you can do whatever you want.

How easy has it been for people to unlock this device without the 6 month service?

Problem is, I already have an old grandfathered Cricket plan that I can't add lines to or I will lose it. So for me to buy the phone I need to Port in a new number and waste 55 bucks on a months worth of plan

Grand fathered plan will only change if you activate the phone. First month credit will stay in your account and applied as credit to next month

Really? Pretty sure that adding a line to the account will kill the grandfathered 5/100 plan. Pretty risky to try if you're wrong

Might have to see if this works with the 4 for 100 family plan.

Agreed. Getting it for $455 doesn't seem like the worst deal, especially to not lose your grandfathered plan.

I'd just make a new account, get a port credit with the eBay number, and pitch the other sim/account, and pop in your current sim. The phone is locked, but just to cricket in general not the specific account.

Yeah but it is really 500 then with taxes and port in number

I could have just bought a fully unlocked one for 512 on the Amazon deal and I passed on that. At 500 it is just mushy for me as to whether I really need to upgrade. if it were 400 I would definitely bite
