Both of similar performance and usability. Both considered reliable.

Samsung used to have major issues with poor material choices (e.g. a LOT of pot metal) and had common failure modes of rusting drive components and and tub connectors. I'm told that is remedied these days.

LG is of slightly better build quality based on internet reviews and me, more or less, dismantling both brands' models recently at a very helpful show room. Below link has reliability of a major east cost vendor.

Repair networks of both is not great outside of metropolitan areas, so warranty repairs and parts can be marginally more challenging than "domestic" brands.

AJ Madison is very reputable. However, after doing extensive research and just purchasing a set of LG top loaders last week, i decided to go with LG.

Do they include or at least offer a service to remove my old washer/dryer and install these kind of like Costco offers?

Beware of Samsung washers and driers. I have a pair of top load purchased new 5 years ago. The washer had to be replace once already under warranty. The dryer has been repaired once, heating element died, and now the control board is failing.

Just bought a new laundry set. Based on my own experience as well as many professional/individual reviews, I paid significantly more for a Maytag pair with fewer features than the set highlighted here. I get along fine without a WiFi connection or steam spray on my dryer. What matters to me is having something that is reliable and does its job.

I have bought two laundry sets in the last 25 years, and all were Maytag... replaced for aesthetic reasons more than anything.

Personally, I stay away from Samsung Refrigerators and Washer/dryers. They have had more repair complaints in front loaders than LG.

For a logical analysis, this is a great article:

We have had the LG set for 8 years now. Only had a simple issue that got resolved for 35 bucks but over all great machines!

I will suggest LG over Samsung!

i've had both brands. an older LG front load washer/dryer (5 years old) and newer samsung front (2 years). no issues besides a broken door hatch from samsung washer that had to be fixed. the reliability will depend on certain models and other things but generally speaking, more people prefer LG over samsung (in terms of reliability) when it comes to kitchen/laundry appliances. this is even true in korea where samsung gets a bad reputation in that department.

I second that. Had multiple issues with my Samsung machines.

I regret having bought all Samsung appliances when I upgraded. Have run into issues with each one of them. Stay away from Samsung!

According to that site posted above

Most Reliable / Least Serviced Appliance Brands for 2019 (Reviews / Ratings)

https://blog.yaleappliance.com/bi...1575492671

From what I read on various posts on that site. Stay away from Samsung fridges, but their newer washer/dryers are fine. LG is pretty well rounded and in the top 3 for reliability and rarely needs servicing. The high end appliances need more service. Site also says LG excels in Laundry.
