We use this in our church to live stream our services on Facebook Live. Have also used with another group to live stream to Youtube. I have the 1st gen camera, so can't speak to what is improved with this one. Let me correct a few things earlier.

-The boost device is both an external battery for the camera (adds like 8+ hours to the available time). It's not for a second angle. The boost also has a port to connect to wired computer network (LAN) and a place to connect to a phone or mobile hotspot to use where wifi isn't available.
-The 1st gen camera has a 4K sensor, but outputs in 720p. So you can use the entire picture and it will scale down, or you can zoom in to a fraction of the size, and even save those different areas of the screen as presets, and it makes your production look like there are multiple camera angles with only one camera.
-On the first gen camera, the built in microphone sounds pretty bad - it sounds muffled, like you're in a tunnel. But you can hook a microphone, or in our case the whole sound board, into the lightning port of the ipad or iphone you are using to control the camera feed, and you get much better results. Again, this is with the 1st gen - don't know how the current version differs.
- It does not cost anything to stream with this to Facebook live or Youtube. If you want to use Vimeo, who Mevo has become affiliated with, then you have to pay, but that's normal for that platform. If you are using any other method to put videos on Vimeo, I think you have the same pay rates as with the Mevo. But Facebook live and Youtube don't cost.
-A Gopro and editing would definitely give a better product, but you can't go live to Facebook live with no other equipment other than an iphone or ipad to control the feed. It's definitely a simple to use and cost effective way to live stream.

That's all I can think of at the moment. At the time it initially came out, there was no other product that would do what it does. There may be others now, but I'm unaware. We've been using our camera for a couple years now, and it's having a battery issue. The battery in the camera itself isn't holding a charge. It still works when plugged in or when used on the boost. So we're thinking of upgrading to this new version of the camera. Basically, for what you usually pay for the camera, you're getting all the extra accessories. It's a good deal if it fits your needs.

Lol why is this even frontpage. Not a good product nor a good price for a not good product.

Mediocre video and frustratingly poor automatic editing. I bought one a year ago and it's just...ok. it's basically a mediocre cell phone camera in a round chassis. To get the most use out of it, you also have to subscribe to an expensive Vimeo subscription. Not worth it.

It comes with only one stand. I believe the boost device is to capture the event from another angle

How do you connect both main device and the boost device? Any thoughts?

This allows you to professionally stream via Facebook Live, or via a website. Great for events, conferences, meetings, competitions, reporting, etc.

Can you stream live on all platforms at one time?

The Mevo site doesn't make it clear if you also have to pay for a monthly subscription to be able to stream with them, do you know if this is true or not?

I film events using a GoPro hero 5 session connected to a battery bank.
I use a photography light stand and 3D printed 1/4" to GoPro adapter.
I get 4K footage and edit it when I get home from the event. It's half the cost of this camera and much better quality.

This camera does not exist for the purpose you described. Its purpose is live streaming.
