Netgear ORBI Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi System, with Wall Plugs for Placement Anywhere (RBK33)

I have this exact system in my house that's 5500sq ft. it replaced 3 extenders that was used before has completely eliminated coverage dead spots. Surely throughput isn't the top of the line like RBK50 (I think) but it's more than enough for all my usage.

CCC shows that this is the lowest price ever, and I think I paid more than this for a like new unit from warehouse about a year ago.

A lot of people just want the wall plugs RBW30 for range extenders on their other systems like the RBK50. Theyre compatible but with a slower backhaul speed.

This is a good deal for 2x wall plugs which sell for $150 individually.

Costco has a better deal. 129$ for router and satellite.

I must disagree. Costco has RBK22 with one router and one satellite. This one has 2 satellites for $60 more. I'd jump on an ORBI satellite for $60, even for a used one in good shape.
Amazon also has RBK23 (https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Or...07CQDHPFT) which is basically Costco package with an extra desktop satellite for $194.
The desktop satellite (https://www.amazon.com/Netgear-RB...B07JJBC7BS) or plug in satallite (https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wa...B06XKC6V2X) alone sells for $149.

For houses that need 2 or more satellite to get full coverage, the Amazon package is definitely a better deal.

If my position is that I have an RBR50 Orbi router and sattelite. What is my best option for extending my network. We have a house built in the early 90's and have poor signal on our upper levels. If I just wanted mesh extenders without paying several hundred dollars what's my best option? I regret going Orbi now because the cost of sattelite/extensions is heinous.

Unfortunately ORBI doesn't let you use anything else as its satellite. So your options are getting the plugin satellite so it's hidden out of view but sacrifice some performance (2.2 Gbs vs 3Gbs) or getting the RBS50 so you can get the full 3Gbs throughput you already paid for in getting RBR50. Either way it's not cheap. Or if you know someone who just wants ORBI router for say $60, (which is what i paid recently for a Like New one, and wish I had waited for this deal so I can get some extra satellites) you can keep the satellite or satellites for relatively lower price.
I mean you should be able to hide the desktop unit behind something so it's out of view as well if you really hate its looks that much.

Where can I buy just the affordable plugin. We don't need the full speeds upstairs. They all seems so ungodly expensive.

Yeah they are ungodly expensive. That's why this package seems like a good deal. You get 2 plugins and a base for not much more the price of a single plugin unit. If you buy this and sell the base with one plugin for close to what Costco is charging for RBK22 package, you'll end up with a plugin for about $60.
