I missed the CM deals yesterday and the ones I wanted were out of stock. But today I received a 30% code and actually got better deal!
Use code code SAVE30 and choose the Customize option. I increased my M2 SSD to 500GB. You can reduce your RAM to 8GB to reduce price by $100 and install your own later.to save some money.

You can also use the same coupon on pre-built one for 15.6 inch models.

I am wondering if it's possible to build a laptop with only the SSD and no hard drive? Thanks.

I don't need a laptop right now but want one and I can't help but keep waiting for the inevitable retail clearance prices. Especially since I've read the Y540/740 series have iffy QC (although all the gaming laptops seem to).

On the other hand, the 2060 deal looks nice with Rakuten cashback.

when do those prices show up most of the time? Any particular brands to look out for as well?

Of course, SSD becomes boot drive and storage drive. The extra hdd is to reduce cost for storage , spindle hdds are much less expensive per Gb than a good nvme ssd drive

Don't know I'm still new to this. Here's the last Walmart megathread for reference (most of the deals are dead now) https://slickdeals.net/f/13376671-walmart-gaming-laptops-pc-megathread-ymmv?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Best Buy deals tend to much more repeatable. I picked up an RTX 2070 and Tab S4 (which I returned) that way.

And as someone who just built a home PC, I recommend AT LEAST 512GB of storage. Modern big-budget games have huge storage requirements. Destiny 2 is ~100GB, Gears 5 ~60GB, Borderlands 3 ~60GB etc.

I can also build a machine similar to the one I ordered on CM, for cheaper... I didn't need the 1tb ssd 512 is fine for me (+1tb hdd in the customized builder.) Upgrading from the 1660ti to the 2060 AND paying less even with 5% less cash back from rak. Nice find, thanks for sharing. Now to call Lenovo and haggle tomorrow morning
Got any tips/suggestions for getting them to bring the price down?
