Is this really a money maker though? Also, how do you find out the transaction info like that?

~$600 'full' price. Just click the 141 sold link in the listing to see the previous purchases.

This is nowhere close to a full price of $600 normally. That is like the msrp and nobody buys it at that price. Specs do not warrant such a price. This ia a $400 max laptop as an everyday price

This isn't really spec'd different from tons of laptops going for way higher...except that this is a value-line-branding.

At this price point, I'd be looking for something with Vega 6 graphics, or better, personally.

I totally agree with above statement. Lately all manufacturers are jacking up the prices too high and then offering a sale or coupon to make it as if they are offering a bargain deal.

Yeah, no. Not with
  1. IPS;
  2. touchscreen;
  3. backlit keyboard;
  4. an i5.
The sale price would be in the $400 perhaps, but not "an everyday price". And this is $27 less than that, with possibly no sales tax (another $25+ savings).

All my purchases from eBay over more than a year are all taxed. I am not sure what states eBay don't tax but many states have closed that loop.

That's why I said "possibly no sales tax". I wasn't sure: haven't bought much from eBay recently. That doesn't change the big picture.

Here is another point of comparison: The current FP deal on the same model with an i7 from OD. It's $450. You do get a 10th-gen. i7, but you give up IPS, touchscreen and backlit keyboard. That's a big tradeoff (and you still pay $80+ more after tax). And it's a FP dfeal, because it's not a common price for this kind of config.

I agree with IPS screen, backlit KB but touch screen is not necessary for all and that's what I meant in my earlier comment that the msrp prices are a joke and sale prices are supposed to be begin with and on top of it a sale price should have been offered for these PC's that doesn't have all the bells and whistles you mentioned like IPS screen, backlit kb, newer processor etc.,
