Seems this brand has been unusually popular recently in SD, take with mild skepticism

A couple of things before you buy. All these cheapo Asian cams are basically built on the same platform. The have a few different housings the customiser can choose from but other than the software (I will get to that later) these are all the same and little more than a toy. I have more than a few from different sources none cost me more than $12 delivered. I can tell you now that this camera does not have true zoomable optics. They just blow the existing image up to an even more nasty pixelated mess.
Now what's the difference? Well a group of enterprising Asians got the idea that they could customise the the ROM based software in the camera and point them to their own servers where they could sell you storage "rights" for these cameras. I started to disassemble the code in these cameras which starts with the same bones but until the weather gets too nasty to play outside that project is on hold. There are some like-minded folks and I am hoping we will ban together.
So anyway all these sub-$50 or so wireless cameras are the same except for the cloud server they point to. Some of software variants have terrible English translations of verbal instructions which loudly repeat after every power failure so be prepared. The documentation varies from "manufacturer to manufacturer" but they all stink. If you want a fun toy, go for it but be aware there are cheaper alternatives. Start looking around for a hacking group for these buggers too. That should be fun as well.

How much is their cloud? Probably not safe. Doesn't seem any different from pixelated 15fps useless wyze cam zoom. I have 2 wyze cams. Recently get gmail notification suspicious activity in my wyze gmail acct. Someone tried to login from a different region. These are probably spycams.

FYI - EZVIZ is the consumer brand of Hikvision. Many of the products are intended to be cloud centric.

Could you share some of your sources with the cam around $12 range ? I searched aliexpress with EZVIZ or Hikvision but couldn't find similar ones or the non Pan usb version under $30. Thanks.

Hi redhat,

Try not using the brands "EZVIZ" and "Hikvision" . Look for the chip you want in your hardware and search on that.

The cam picture is decent quality, I have it. The issue I have is with the aforementioned, you have to use their servers. I bought two ezviz cams with the assumption they would work with tinycam pro, but they do not. A simple search would have told me that, but I was too lazy and now I have 2 cameras that dont record to anything, only allow me to view them.

The coupon is now 30%, but they have another listing for the same price without using a coupon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L9CM...B07CXRDMLK

It says you can put a 256GB SD card in this to record instead of using cloud. Does anyone know what happens when the SD card is full, does previous recordings get deleted?

Thanks for catching that. I thought they were both the same because they both have "CTQ6C" in their titles. Canceling order now.
