8% in eBay Bucks on every qualifying item of $25 or more (the "Promotion").
6% in eBay Bucks on every qualifying item (the "Promotion").

Who's eligible?

Only invited, registered eBay Bucks participants who receive the promotional offer from eBay in My Messages are eligible. Sorry, no forwarding—the offer is not transferable.

Promotion details

The Promotion starts at 5:00AM PT on December 4, 2019 and ends at 11:59PM PT on December 5, 2019 (the "Promotion Period"). The Promotion applies to any qualifying items purchased during the Promotion Period that meet the minimum purchase requirement. You must activate the offer to qualify.
*Qualifying items exclude all items in the following categories: Classifieds; Business & Industrial, but only for Heavy Equipment within that category; Real Estate; Gift Cards & Coupons, including eBay Gift Cards, Gift Cards, and Digital Gifts within that category; Bullion within the Coins & Paper category; and all categories in Motors, except Parts & Accessories.
Rewards are capped at $100 per transaction and $500 per Earn Period. See eBay Bucks Terms & Conditions at www.ebay.com/rewards/terms.html [ebay.com] for other program restrictions. Purchases must be completed during the Promotion Period and paid for before the Promotion ends. eBay reserves the right to cancel, amend, or revoke the Promotion at any time.

At current state Ebay is so ridiculously unattractive to me. Business can't be all that great in my opinion and i think it's a matter of time until we see a 10%-15% off discount to promote sales.
Totally agree but what sort of alternate sites do people use? Aliexpress, Wish, or just Amazon?

Chase Freedom also gives 5% back for using PayPal.
Paypal isn't letting me check out on eBay using my Chase Freedom card, though. It acts like the card isn't part of my Paypal wallet, which it is. What's weird is that it worked fine a couple of days ago.

Sales tax will hurt sales.. when you can buy at the local level and pay the same amount or less. There will always be ways to evade sales tax.. flea and farmers markets paying in cash for example.

Looks like the ITEM needs to be $25+ for 8% ebay bucks and not the total purchase. If all items are individually less than $25 but the total is more than $25, then you still only get 6%.

I won't pay tax on used items, and I don't even browse the site for less than 10% off.

Do online retailers not remit sales and use tax with ZIP codes/cities attached?

I mean there will be shell dummy companies that buy as a reseller status and just not pay the sales tax or charge tax to profit...this has been going on long before internet sales tax.

I'm in one of those non-selected account. Never get these. Don't know why. I purchase once or twice a month on eBay. 😤
