Oh, brother... Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Same thing for toy lawn mowers and vacuums... just get the kids behind the real thing. No need to buy the colorful toy versions that kids might have a safe, fun time with!!

I'm surprised that people still buy these things.

Use your $25 to buy some fresh eggs, flour, sugar, butter and teach your kids how to have fun baking in a *real* oven with *real* ingredients. With guidance, they can do it safely.

I gotta agree. Back when these things were a huge hit we also had wood burning kits. So ya we weren't supervised like we hover over kids today. Those things get burning hot. Why do you think they actually cook stuff? Lol. I agree. Teach them to make muffins from a box in the oven and move on to fancier stuff from there!

Yes like mowers and vacuums. By age 8 they should be able to manage these with supervision as well. My 5 year old uses a swiffer and knows how to make beds and fluff pillows. What's your point? Did you never mow. Yard as a kid. 6$ for a box of " crappy dough" anytime you want to use this oven. You can buy an actual 99 cent box of something that actually tastes decent. Let them do all the work with you handling the hot container only. Spend time together then serve it for dessert.

I'm sad it has a heating element, the original ones used a 100 watt bulb. Very hard to destroy at that point. Now the element goes and so does the oven I expect.

I'm on the fence with this. I asked my wife if we should get it for the grandkids and her reply was similar to one above: just let them pick mixes at the store and then work with them in the kitchen to make the real thing. I truly believe one-on-one time spent with an adult's focus solely on them is the most valuable thing you can give a child. On the other hand, kids like having their own special things, whatever "it" may be, and using it in their own make-believe world is fun for them and valuable, too.

I ordered one of these yesterday and it already arrived - but I don't see the 3 mixes. Anyone know what the deal is with those?
