Wow! Updates lasts 6.5 years compared to 5 from previous ones.
This basically seems like a good new and fresh $200 chromebook.

The Lenovo site says the FHD is IPS so hopefully viewing angle is nice since it might be a cheap IPS screen.
Also multi touch. Does multitouch mean the exact same as touchscreen?

If so then this seems like a objectively better deal than
https://slickdeals.net/f/13624597-acer-chromebook-15-cb315-2ht-47wg-silver-15-6-fhd-ips-touchscreen-199-99?src=featured-cat
unless I'm missing something.

Wouldn't IPS and multitouch/touchscreen be features Costco would highlight? This tells me it's probably not.

Of course people would get windows laptops if they needed windows, but it wouldn't have up to 10 hours battery for $200.

Probably soldered on so no. Ram is enough for basic internet use and video. A chromebook is meant to be for online use mainly but if you want to save a lot of stuff for offline then a micro sd would be used for that.
$300+ Windows laptops have more flexibility but have lower battery.

Non-backlit keyboard kills the deal. Was going to scoop one for casual work, but can't jack in the dark with the invisible keyboard. lol

I think $169.99 is the lowest ever for 4GB ram and 64GB Storage with 1080P FHD

fark this is a good buy. I'm looking at used thinkpads right now for a work comp but this blows them away in specs. but then again non backlit and low ram are huge negs. NM the n4000 is 41% slower than a 4th gen i5.
