I have this saw; bought it a month ago to clear a mess of limbs from a storm in a "surgical" fashion from my overhead power entrance, a couple hundred feet from an outlet (corded sun joe saw wasn't an option), and my manual pole trimmer would have been a nightmare with my ladder at full extension and a reach.

Complaints: The saw is rather top heavy when fully extended, but ultimately manageable. The saw can't be resting on a branch to start, as it doesn't have the torque to start the chain when in contact with a load. The oiler took around a minute to start "slinging" (flowing), but ultimately did it's thing.

Pros: the saw ended up doing what I needed it to. If I don't use it again (though I know I will), I'm satisfied with my purchase of the kit at full price as it did what it needed to, and saved me from unsafe antics next to power lines, calling in a favor, or hiring the job out.

I highly recommend this saw if you are into the Dewalt system and need to trim limbs at heights.

Per the model number, this one should also have a charger and 4ah battery, for $30 more:

Still too high for me to bite on something like this

I believe these are Pre-Orders. Not sure when they actually ship. I got one for my dad for Christmas so hopefully before then.

Couldn't get the discount code to work with this one, but worked for the bare tool. Thanks!

I'm thinking 20v is going is going be to low to make this an effective tool. I have the 20v hedgetrimmer and chainsaw and they seem ok

I can't vouch for the product itself, but I did buy this last week with the same promo code. I've been waiting for someone to sell it for under list price

FYI, the $65 "corded" Sunjoe posted here often is a great pole saw as well.

Does this one not reduce to regular chainsaw like the Sunjoe?

Maybe, but on the other hand pole saws are usually used to cut up smaller things like branches.

I am pretty tempted. I have the 20v and 60v chainsaws and have been really happy with them. The 20 isn't bad for smaller things and we actually use it a lot since it's so light. I think that would be perfect for pruning.

No. And from the sound of it, I don't know why you'd use it as a chain saw.

The electric chainsaws are already somewhat meh, can't imagine them with the smaller motor + chain of a pole saw.

The kit would be worth it if you could sell off the charger + battery.

Interesting tool, but I have no use for it. Thwarted this time, Slickdeals!

Edit:

F, I found a use for it 😐
I have the 82v Snapper chainsaw and I think it's pretty impressive. The battery seems to last longer than the chain sometimes.
