It was 245 on Black Friday (bought and am wearing right now). This is still a decent deal, just not quite as low.

It's been a little off-topic, but I was accidentally snap a Fenix 5x plus about $260 with some scratch on the outer ring. YMMV but worth try if you can find one...

Can someone help me figure out if this is a good watch for me? There are so many Garmin fitness watches it is hard to discern which one is the best one for me.

Previous owner of the FR305 which for the generation of watches was a great one. Then had to move to the Vivoactive HR because my FR305 broke a week before a half-marathon I was running and I needed something immediately and cheap.

I want an every day watch that isnt too bulky. I mostly run, bike, and hike but dont need topo maps because I am going on well known trails I use. I run 2 half-marathons a year so I want something with a battery that is going to continually last for those long runs or multiple hour bike rides.

I am stuck between the FR and Vivo line (probably just the vivoactive 4). Any advice from your pros out there?

This watch or the Forerunner 245 would be perfect for you. It's the smaller plastic case, similar to my Forerunner 935. The 245 has some of the updated Garmin running metrics and apps like Pace Pro, but lacks a barometric altimeter that the 645 has. If I had a choice between the 2 I would go with this one - plus you get the music as a bonus.

I seen it. Confirmed. It was $199 for non-music and $245 for the music version on amazon black friday.

Almost pulled the trigger but have had a nagging calf injury lately.

Unless you really need it soon, it will be worthwhile to wait for just 2-3 month for FR 655 to come

Since you've got experience with the 245, 645 and 935... When would you say the 945 would be the watch to have? I've been debating the 645 and 945 and can't seem to make a decision. Thanks for your help

If money is no object the 945 is a no brainer, it has the new training load/acclimation metrics and pulse ox. It's their newest model and very rare to find on sale.

I actually have gone Vivoactive - Vivoactive HR - Forerunner 935. I was afraid to wear my 935 as an everyday watch because I did not want to take a chance of having to replace it. So, I bought the Fenix 5X Sapphire for $299 since it is much more rugged. I wear the 5X for every day wear and trail running, and the 935 for road running. I also picked up a refurbed Vivosport last year and wear that when I don't feel like wearing a big watch. The Garmin watches all synch with each other through Garmin Connect.

The Vivosport is a great little companion watch to it's big brothers, you can even use it as a backup to run if you forget to charge your main watch (smallest watch with built in GPS). Here'as refurb for less than $50 https://www.ebay.com/itm/202287235906
