Okay, someone school me on current phones and if maybe this would be a good replacement.

I bought a Huawei Honor 8 about 4 years ago, and it has always been a solid phone. Of course with the recent problems with Huawei and the U.S. Govt, it seems like I've lost some usability in my Honor 8 as the updates keep making it less useful. Recently I thought about finding a similar phone, that isn't too bulky, and has good function. How do these compare? What is Mint Mobile?

Right now I'm on MetroPCS, which I think is just T-Mobile repackaged. Flat rate of $50/mo. AT&T service was so-so here, so I would rather stay on MetroPCS. So that's why I'm kinda wondering what this Mint Mobile thing is. Hate to switch to it, then have to go back and rework my MetroPCS billing if the mint thing is garbage.
This is a good option for T-Mobile and their MVNOs. It's got band 66 and 71, which should help get even stronger signal if it's deployed in your area.

Good price, baseline storage (@32 GB) but SD card, large amoled screen, Moto Actions (flashlight, etc), 4 GB RAM, access to Moto mods. CPU and software support will be lacking, but for the price this is solid.

Looks like a good opportunity to try Mint; I found it too inconsistent with super low data speeds at times. IMHO Metro always seemed too expensive, but if it works well for you, then you could also just sell the Mint card?

Edit: This will be bigger than the Honor 8. For a compare, I'd look at the Pixel 3a.

Lenovo took a step backwords with this model. Z2 force had a Qualcomm 835 whereas the processor in this model really sucks. Essentially a good build with budget/entry-level level processor.

Do you have AT&T? I bought the $99 Z Force 2 deal for AT&T last year because it was cheap but I haven't really used it so it's just sitting on the shelf collecting dust. We can work out something so you get a new phone and I get rid of something I don't really need.
I'm interested. I got the same phone last year as well (typing on it right now in fact). My daughter blew out the speaker on mine watching YouTube vids. I love the phone but annoying having to use wireless headphones to make and receive calls. I don't know how to message through Slickdeals. If you know how send me one and we'll see if we can work something out.

Thanks for the tips. I'll probably try Mint just because there's no reason not to. Same towers/signals as MetroPCS and they seem to work best in my neighborhood. Just want to match it up with the right phone, hopefully with a good camera. Smilie

If you want a mint mobile phone grab a t mobile v30 on eBay for like 100 or less. You can even get a new one for like 175. It has band 12 and 71, has a faster processor than pixel 3a, and is an all around fantastic phone for the price. I am typing on it now.

Kinda tempted by this as gifts for my family, however... I wish I wasn't limited by the 45 day activation for the service. Would rather save that for later, and purchase something like a redpocket annual plan from eBay - since this is the time of year for this plans and deals

I got a pixel 3a last week using Google fi for $250 and then traded in my Moto x4 for a $125 Staples gift card. It's funny that they valued the Moto x4 at $125.
wow. what's a good way to cash out GC? Can you buy other GCs with it?? If not who else uses http://cloverwireless.com/rapid-quote as TPA

I was just there today for $10 deal. That's more than I paid for it (in GCs though). too bad staples doesn't have FAR anymore Frown CSR said too many complaints, yeah right..

I believe the Z3 Play does have NFC. The original post stated it doesn't.
You are correct. There is an earlier post has the wrong specs listed (maybe for a Moto G6?).

Correct info:

Is this a big upgrade from Galaxy S6? The S6 is aging but still going strong and takes decent pics.
