All models sold out in NJ for those who are checking. Very happy with my ipad 7 with apple keyboard. Functions just as well as 10.5 iPad Pro so far and the screen doesn't feel as cheap as previous year's model. The fact that it supports keyboard natively makes me wonder who "needs" the power of an Air or even a Pro. Good luck to those who get it.

The CPU in the "iPad" is significantly older than that of the Air and Pro. And that is important *not* so much because you will notice the speed now (as you point out), but because the device will not be supported as long as those with the newer CPU. So it's more of a longevity issue than anything. That said the speed difference can be noticeable, as well as the screen quality. And with the cost difference, and what you pointed out, that might not matter to some. But for me, coming from a Pro that's a couple years old (daughter broke the screen,) it's tough to buy that old CPU. I'm looking for a BF/CM-like discount on the Air or Pro like we saw on those $229 iPads last week, but without cellular. If you need cell, this is a very good deal.

Agreed on the cellular just think CPU and build are less of an issue than 6th gen iPad. Just for clarity, the CPU in this is the same as iPhone X, iPad Pro 10.5 at slightly slower clock speed. I think it will be supported for at least 3 years if not 4 which will be longer than full battery life.

If you are referring to the iPad 7, it has an A10 while the iPad Pro 10.5 and iPhone X have the A10X and A11 respectively. Both are significantly more powerful, not just clocked higher
