Not as cheap as earlier with the 9ah battery but still a great deal if you're in the market for some Ryobi batteries and didn't have a need for the 9ah.
Add both battery sets to the cart and it should come out to $109
Do these batteries last now? I bought a set about 5 years ago and they died within a year. Tools would work, but I'm not spending another 100 for dead batteries
Keep them charged and shouldn't be an issue. I have a ton of batteries and most are at least a couple years old. Have had a couple fail out of about 20 but they were some of the first style with red green or yellow to show charge level
Much cheaper clones work as well. I've bought a few.
At this price, why bother with inferior clones? Not only that, do you want to have a high amp lithium chemistry battery from some unknown Chinese Aliexpress seller charging in your home, unattended? Not to mention, these Ryobi batts all have 3 year warranties... would it really be worth trying Chinese generics?
Ok I goofed the order and got it backwards but what you can do is ship the kit to your house and the battery to store. That will allow you to can cancel the kit and keep the battery.
These black 4AH batteries (P197) are better than the older grey ones (P108).
P108 (Grey 4AH non-HP) - Samsung 15A max discharge cells - 60% capacity after 250 cycles - 1.5lbs
P197 (Black 4AH non-HP) - Sony 30A max discharge cells - 60% capacity after 500 cycles - 1.5lbs
P192 (Grey 4AH HP) - Sony 30A max discharge cells - 60% capacity after 500 cycles - 1.9lbs
I do have a few Ryobi brushless tools and a bunch of 3AH HP batteries to go with them. But the batteries I end up recharging most frequently are the non-HP 4AH batteries that I use with my lawn tools, kid's power wheels, area lights, fan, vacuum, etc.
I just completed the order for the 2 sets of Ryobi batteries. The invoice shows $129 + $79 = $208 minus $105.99 discount = $102.01 plus $6.99 shipping plus tax.
That's OK with me, just a little less to tax!
Thanks for the suggestion on the add two items and set one to ship and other pickup then cancel the shipped item. In the end I was able to order the Starter kit and 6 charger for $124.76 after tax.
