Would have jumped on this but was able to get a6500 + 18-105 used for $910 on ebay! Anyone recommend a tripod/gimbal for video? Thanks!

I'm pretty well versed in the a6xxx model Sony cameras. I've been shooting with the a6000 for over 4 years now and was the lucky recipient of an a6400 and a6500 thanks to Amazon. I spent a bit of time with both before deciding......on the 6400. The main reason why is the eye autofocus. Simply put I had a lot more percentage of keepers with the advantage of the faster processor in the a6400 and the continuous eye af then any advantage that In body image stabilization. And that's with primarily shooting with the sigma 16 mm and 30 mm which are NOT image stabilized. Of course this depends on your shooting style but I think that the benefits of IBIS are overstated. Yes it will help and of course is better to have it than not however it's not worth giving up the eye af that's in the a6400. And Sony is out of their minds with the a6600 pricing. So for me even though the 6500 is supposed to be a step up from the a6400 and from the perspective of price not being an option since I paid the same $95 for each of them I decided on the a6400.

As far as this deal goes the a6400 retail price is $100 more than the price of this a6500 so if you're on the fence you don't have to jump on this deal right now.
I agree Ibis is overrated. I had an a6000 which doesn't have Ibis and have used the sigma 16 and Sony 35 and 50 the later two having oss And an a7iii with Ibis. For pictures, there was really very little difference with regards to where oss/Ibis helping. In video it's a little better with oss/ibis, but it's still going to be Shakey hand held. You are still going to need a tripod or gimbal for smooth video

This is a hell of a deal. I haven't seen prices this low (and I've followed it for last 6 months) and they threw in some bonus items as well.

Zhiyun weebill s, $439 or $350 on eBay, it holds my bmpcc 6k and sigma 18-35 so it should hold your setups easily and it's very small

Can someone who know sony tell me: I bought A7IIk on prime day, with 28-70mm lens, and also bought samyang 35mm lens. I ended up returning both.
All pictures I made come out dark, even outside in good day light.
Pictures of people inside building - all faces are green/yellow.
Plus 95% are not clear or sharp at all.
I read that sony colors are like that, and it needs to be fixed in software image editors.
Is this 6400/6500 models are better or all sony the same?

Was this your first camera? Did you use the histogram and were you in manual?

So if we have a horde of crop lenses from a Nikon D3200 are they compatible on the a6000 series?

Not worth adapting unless you are ok with extra weight and high price on AF adaptors

Not that great. I just bought the a6400 bundle a few days ago for $765 and it came with way more accessories. Battery grip, 3 batteries, 2 SD cards, bag, stand and more.

Too bad it overheated durning the setup process and 10m into a 4K video...

Good for still photos (eye af works plus has ibis). For videos get A6400 +gimbal, it eye AF on video.

From DPReview, they're comparing the 6500 from the 6300...

"Unfortunately, the story isn't so positive when it comes to color, arguably the greatest weakness of Sony's JPEG engine. Color has been tweaked from the 6300, but it still lags compared to rivals. Yellows are still much more green than most other brands, blues seem slightly more muted, albeit perhaps realistic. Greens are a touch cool compared to other brands, and appear slightly desaturated relative to the 6300. Skin tones are a touch more red and not quite as 'earthy' as Canon's response (which we consider a benchmark). In real world shooting skin tones can occasionally look washed out and greenish. "
