for mining, it's better off using a GPU card, much more cost effective than this. The advantage of this board is IoT. Also beware this is not the production module, which I quoted:

"Something worth being aware of: the Jetson Nano development kit that's currently available has an early version of the Nano module which isn't pin-for-pin (finger-for-finger?) compatible with the current production version sold separately.
The production Nano module (which you can also now buy) won't work in the dev kit carrier! Similarly, the dev kit Nano module won't work in a carrier compatible with the production Nano module.
Apparently they'll refresh the development kit to match the production Nano module later in the year, but for now it's a big gotcha if you're designing hardware using the dev kit."

from hacker news. It's hard to tell these are updated or the old inventory from early this year that newegg is selling out.
On my understanding, nano dev is not compatible on nano module. See the pricing on nvidia jetson .

This is dev board and has detail pin layouts .

I had the same issue. Both the code from slickdeals and the one on newegg's web page (SDNE924) did not work.

I tried and failed to build a facial recognition door lock using the RPi and Windows IOT. The system did work sometimes, but it was far to unreliable for practical use. It was more proof of concept. I still have all the gear sitting in drawer unused. Could you point me to a tutorial for something similar using this board.
you messed up when you chose to use windows iot

Looks like the jetson nano is on sale every two weeks from newegg.

Alternatively, you can get the Google Coral USB accelerator around the same price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlubMGSfRug

Standalone sign language interpretation "keyboard"? Both for those who rely on sign language and maybe also as an extensible means of issuing complex commands to the attached computer, similar to "minority report" style. Like all ML, would require some decent training, but there's probably tons of video data and a vast community to draw from.
Ahh, I see how you have misread it since I didn't make it clear. I meant what would be a good case (enclosure) for this board.

Are you sure? The price ~$99 to 109 .
This is the first time seeing $79. Or i missed the deal in the past.

If you loook google coral, you will know why people try to avoid it.
Same price but different target.

If you search on slickdeal, there has been already a previous newegg sale in November for the same price. I bet newegg will do it again rather soon in the near future. It doesn't feel the soc market received this board very well as most are interested in the general cpu soc such as rpi.

Other than it must be submitted for google approval and trained in google's cloud, Coral Edge AI is reported run object recognition faster than jetson nano, but limited to the ML type can be used.

I see.
This deal for ai/ml not for general purposes sbc. The market is for ai/ml user. Instead of running beefy cpu or adding gpu. This nano woule be a good alternative way.

Thay is the reason some people stay way from googlr coral including me.
Hey need to approve the model and not giving. Flexibelity?
I already mentioned that google coral has different target than nvidia jetson

I still has free $ for google cloud. . It was nice, but i prefer running locally hehe
