the actual drone forces you to not fly? isn't there a way to disable they somehow?
If you are in a DJI no fly zone, the motors will not even start. If you try to fly into a no fly zone, it will stop. Repeated tries and it will self land.
There are also restricted areas that limit flight altitude as little as 150 feet or less. There is no way to bypass this...unless you install non official firmware which cost more money and is a little sketchy.

I bought a Autel Evo a few weeks ago, loving it. No China govt spying on your flight. Evo is an American company.
Autel Evo is built and designed 100% by a Chinese company, Autel Intelligent Technology, with USA contacts.

Controller on the EVO does not have a built in video screen.
It absolutely does, and a really good bright one at that.

This is idiotic. You still have to obey the flight restrictions. DJI didn't make the rules, the local government did.
🙄 You are missing the point. DJI's own restrictions are far worse and very inaccurate. For example, in my area there is a zone that is restricted by DJI because of an airport, THERE IS NO AIRPORT, the restriction is on the side of a mountain in the middle of a huge mountain ridge. There are not even roads there. You couldn't land a paper airplane anywhere without hitting ten trees in the process. DJI has been notified, yet the restriction remains. This is just one example.

I've owned an Autel x-star and DJI Mavic.

The DJI Mavic is very picky about the flight restrictions. Won't even start up indoors in the city due to flight restrictions. I'm fairly certain I should be allowed to fly inside but DJI won't let me

Well crap!
I'm actually in the market for a good Align 600 electric clone (traditional RC Helicopter)
I've flown 450's in the past and decided I wanted to get back in the game with a bigger heli.
Suggestions welcome...

...And, I don't know about you, but I'd rather be flying the drone that is superior in camera quality, speed, range, flying features, and sensors. If I wanted an action drone, the Skydio R2 is superior to everything on the market. Period

Then I saw the Autel post and started thinking about leaning this way.
Then I saw this post. Crap. Now I MUST have the Skydio!

Honestly I'd rather have the traditional heli but I haven't talked myself out of one of these quads.

Thanks OP! Ordered this last night via Adorama, then remembered Rakuten has 20% points back right now so I canceled the Adorama order and placed one via Rakuten which gave me another $160 in fun money!

Can you please share me the link. I tried searching for it in Rakuten yesterday, but couldn't find one. Appreciate it!

Ya I don't see it either. That might make me order this one if I can cancel my Fimi x8 order.

Here is the link. They're sold out right now though. Sometimes they come back in stock.

this's a better deal than a fimi x8 if you can get one via Rakuten which will give $160 in fun money...

The FIMI is a hobbiest drone, Many, including myself use the EVO for professional use. The EVO is in a completely different class.
few drones out there can do 60fps@4K...

The 20% money back is for what? Rakuten credit?
It charge $60 tax for me, not sure if I should buy there and cancel my Adorama purchase. Any suggestion?
