I have both 2018 Macbook Pro 15 and 2019 Macbook Pro 16 w/ i9

My own suggestion: avoid 15inch. 16inch is day and night better:
Due to better thermal design and large chassis, i9 finally provides 20-25% better performance than i7 counterpart.
2-3x GPU raw performance compare to 560x, 20% better than Vega 20 even with baseline model ( 7nm Navi Radeon Pro 5300M compare to GTX 1650 level in gaming, one of the best choice within 100w chassis.)
Better keyboard and real esc key. better arrow key shape and individual TouchID key.
Superior sound, mic. Almost feel like mini HomePods.
Largest battery 100 wh, larger screen higher resolution and thin bezel.
96w USB-PD charging, no more battery stealing under high loading.
SSD upgrade option is 50% cheaper compare to previous models.

And here is a great video about which option is essential to upgrade for your work type: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr-jOcHIEr8&t=3s

You're buying a whole system for 3-5 years use, don't just look size of memory and SSD space alone.

Adorama has those i9 or i7 for 2500/2200 if you search sd.

Only thing good about this is the 32gb ram upgraded. If 32gb is something you dont need i would shoot for the 16" 512 which has better everything across the board.

Soldered ssd and ram. Glued battery. Crap keyboard. Faulty usb-c ports. Flexgate. Oh yeah and throttles like a bitch under load (watxh the Dave video on YouTube).

Louis Rossman videos. Watch them.

If you must buy a Mac buy the 16" 2019 model, but otherwise you are way better off with an enterprise grade pc like a Dell Precision, HP Zbook or a Lenovo X1 Xtreme or P1.

Solid price given the configuration. I think that we're going to see more of these steep discounts for the higher end models as stores try to clear inventory to make room for the 16" ones. This model still has the butterfly keyboard though.

Yes. Only the new 16 MBP has gone back to the scissor mechanism, while the 2017-2019 15.4 and 13.3 MBP all have the butterfly mechanism, which drew a lot of criticism

I bought this exact configuration new in 2018. Excellent computer. I've had zero issues with the keyboard and I use this laptop all day everyday for work and also used for side video editing as well.
