I own this laptop. Pretty good so far. The cooling seems to be better than my previous laptop. And it probably helps that graphic technology improved greatly. I don't find myself twiddling with the graphic drivers to get certain games running on my GPU. The stuff just works seamlessly now. My previous laptop was the MSI GS60 which I had a handful of issues.

you mentioned tremendous battery life. how many hours can this last?

i'm skeptical any gaming laptop lasts long on battery.

damn, that's tempting.

i got on the triton 700 deal,
killer specs but the triton has only 2 hour battery life non gaming.

i wish it had battery life like this.

i guess i'll need to find a cheap sub 200 laptop for daily use and just use the triton for gaming.

Honestly I am going to wait for 7nm architecture on laptop along with more than quad core. It's coming up soon.
I'm waiting too =) hopefully the 7nm won't throttle. =) Note that this cpu typically uses 35watt.

Of course by then, if I'm right, all the security holes would be patched up while Intel still working on it for many years to come.

Compared to 90% of gaming machines out there that have all these loud design elements that say look at me, I'd say the soft lighted logo is discrete in comparison. I don't feel it's bad. The illuminated logo is low light .

I never understood why gaming machines have such a tendency to have a loud visual design.

You mean an obnoxious and massive glowing red eye on the front of the laptop is discrete? lol. Guess you can slap a sticker on it.

Thanks for helping with that answer. I've never measured it but the fact I've never run out of battery to know it I suppose speaks to the strength of the battery.

Is this laptop worth the extra 300 from the walmart Evoo 15 inch? Nearly the same specs, but 300 more for the Asus brand

I returned my 3VOo. But I also don't like the Max Q in this deal.

I passed on both deals.

The company has no history at all. I wasn't willing to put money into a product like that. It might add frustration for future updates like BIOS, but I believe the BIOS update is now available. I just don't want to deal with the maybes.

I paid a little more money for a little bit better hardware with Lenovo. That being said, the screen flicker on my old Y70 used to drive me crazy, so it's always risky.
