The only issue with this scooter is change tire when it flat . It almost impossible to replace it. I had to give up to replace the pneumatic tire and go with solid but it will significant reduce your speed and balance. If you can go with that it was an excellent scooter to buy, fun experience.

Not to be rude, but how much do you weigh? I weigh 120lb and have one of these with about 100 miles ridden. I suspect that anyone over 140lb will blow a tire on this thing pretty easily.
That's just an Amazon review, not an anecdote. I'm about ~130lbs without my pack, then a bit more with my backpack (laptop, scooter charger, power bank, change, etc).

I have ZERO mechanical experience, closest thing I know is PC disassembly. My dad is good with removing car doors and whatnot, but it's not my thing. Kinda why I'd need to use solids on an m365.

I'm a tech for a living and I can verify it's very hard to DIY. Take it to a bike shop, pay $20 and it's a good scooter.
This will run you upwards of $50 in NYC. Hard to find a cheap shop willing to do e scooters or bikes.

Anyone had success upgrading with 10 inch tires? 10 inch tires will be less prone to puncture and much easier tube replacement.

Found this on Reddit:

"The base is the same as the M365, Xiaomi definitely made the Hover 1 scooter.

The differences are: no Bluetooth, reduced top speed, no firmware upgradeability. For many people, the ability to apply custom firmware is one of the top reasons they buy a brand name M365.

If this is your first scooter and you want to test out last mile solutions, this is the perfect scooter. There is a wealth of knowledge around this chassis along with cheap spare parts so this scooter is definitely worth the money."
Hover 1 doesn't have the brake Regen... Someone said it is not as safe as M365. Don't know it is true or not.

You guys are seriously paranoid. You need to add SLIME into the tires to prevent the Flats.

And when you get a flat without it, you can add the slime and air to fix it.

Its a 8.5' tire, of course its going to be hard to change. The wheels are small AF.

Purchase your SLIME and go on with your life. If you get a larger hole flat then you can even buy a whole pre assembled rear tire with the honeycomb tires or just a new motor with tire installed if you truly cant DIY.

https://www.amazon.com/Slime-1000...316&sr=8-1

Buy that, add to tire, profit. $299 is a steal if you're in the market for a scooter.

P.S: Flash this scooter with the 800w CFW W or GONKAD firmware and you will love it.

That would probably be me. I was comparing safety features between the two scooters. M365 will help you to slow down the scooter further when you let off the throttle which helps reduce braking distance in conjunction with the rear brakes. The Hover1 does not have this feature. When you release the throttle on the Hover-1, the electric motor cuts off and you're effectively coasting until you stop and/or apply the brake.

I also bought the Hover and upon initial testing, my throttle was sticky which caused the motor to accelerate at a constant speed the lever was stuck at. YMMV but I'd recommend anyone who recently purchased the Hover to inspect their throttle lever.

Amazon reviews reflect the quality of this scooter from my experience. I've had 2 over the past few years. The last one I owned went through an RMA process I wouldn't dare even wish for my worst enemies. If you buy this scooter and you're unlucky enough require any RMA service (even if it's within the warranty period), either fix it yourself if you're mechanically/technically inclined or bring it to a scooter repair shop. My RMA process took over 2 months and when I received it back from a third party repair facility which Xiaomi is in contract with, the quality of the repair was worst off than it was before I shipped it. Eventually, after many hoops and hurdles, the retailer took it back out of good faith (because Xiaomi couldn't guarantee me the repair of the repair would be problem-free) and I got a refund.

I've had more experience of the good and bads with this scooter than I would like. The first one I owned didn't have any major issues, just normal maintenance and such but leave it to me for wanting the "best and latest" and getting a load of headaches instead.

I'm not saying the M365 is a bad scooter, it's built reasonably well but based on the reviews, it's a hit or miss... unless the most recent batches are better in QC.

I have to admit the Hover-1 Pioneer was a better deal overall for what you get @ $148 compared to this.

The Hover-1-Pioneer is basically a Xiaomi m365 with 25-30% less power/performance/distance. The scooters are almost exactly the same except for a little bit of wiring and the Xiaomi uses much higher quality LG batteries. That is not to say this isn't a good deal @ $299, The Xiaomi normally goes for $370+ and hasn't come down in a while other than what you saw on BF and the deal on the white version.

Owned the Segway ES3 for a while, and my opinion has changed alot. My brother just got the Hover-1 Pioneer, I've had the chance to test drive his Pioneer all day yesterday and I've noticed it's much smoother than the ES3. It's much smoother and more comfortable of a ride. The ES3 on the other end is quicker and more nimble. The handling and control on the ES3 is much better than the Hover-1 too, making it more fun to ride in a way, but you feel every bump. Small potholes in the road you feel on the ES3. The air-filled tire makes the world of a difference as far as comfort in ride goes, and the experience with the Pioneer and the Xiaomi m365 is superior in that department.

So a comparison to cars I would give them in how they all ride is,

the ES3 rides/handles like a Midengine Porsche,
the Xiaomi is like 7 series BMW,
the Pioneer like a Lexus GS

there are board kits on ebay that lets you repurpose those scooters...if you can find a lost/used lot to buy from, then all you need is one of those kits to turn it into your own
Once I found these, I've been on the hunt for one but i don't know where to look.

Got mine about 4 months ago and love it. Replaced a dashboard with the pro one. Just recently got a flat.. Bought a solid tires but I can't get myself to work on changing it after reading about how hard is it to replace it. Might just end up selling it with a flat and let someone else deal with it.

Already seen reports of chargers over heating, missing screws, etc on the Hover-1 - so I don't think that's entirely accurate

The benefit of the Hover 1 may be though that if it craps out, at least you can throw it back on Walmart's lawn haha

I'm not aware of any of that, I simply gave you my experience. We went and bought the Hover-1 brand new from Walmart. Simple set up with a inflating pump and with spare screws 'labeled as "pare screws". I put his Hover-1 together, and have charged it four separate cycles no problem. My only criticism with the charger is that you don't know if the scooter is charging unless you look at the charger indicator light on the charger itself and it's red or green to indicate charging/full, nothing on the scooter itself will tell you its charging.
