It appears that Walmart mis-quoted the 720p CAMERA resolution as the screen resolution.

Easy enough return if it is not 1080p.

However, even Lenovo says it is 1080p:

I have this laptop. I got it during Black Friday 10 days ago when it was $10 less and I like it.

This laptop is fun to play with and to learn. At around $300, there's no risk to opening it and replacing components without worrying about breaking it unlike $1200 laptops I've had where there's fear of damaging something. There are 10 silver screws in the back, use a plastic card to push the plastic cover up and you get to see everything. I've added 16GB of RAM for a max total of 20GB, added a 1TB SATA SSD, and replaced the battery from 30Wh to 52.5Wh.

Basics:

1) Screen: 1920x1080p IPS. It's around 250 nits brightness so you'll be maxing out the brightness to look the best but everything is clear and sharp. If your screen is dim, increase brightness by pressing the button at F12. The screen is completely dark if brightness is at the minimum. If your screen is yellowish, open up Display Color Calibration and reduce Red hue until it's the brighter color you want. Windows also scales the screen to 125% by default so change the Display scale setting to 100% to get 1920x1080 resolution. Plugging in power supply will make the screen brighter. Windows also has ClearType Text Tuner to make text appear sharper.

2) Sound: If it's not loud enough, open up Dolby Audio app and choose Game or Movie profile. Music with this profile sounds sufficiently loud.

3) Battery: The battery it comes with is 30WHr Battery and from my usage with max brightness it lasts about 3 hours. Dimming the display or doing less may improve battery life. Alternately, buy the 52.5WHr battery. It took me 20 minutes to replace the battery.

4) Casing: The lid cover and keyboard area is aluminum which gives it a premium feel. The back area is plastic and easy to open with 10 screws - all parts are accessible including 1 SO-DIMM RAM slot, NVMe PCIe M.2 which contains the 256GB SSD (this NVMe drive is superfast) - also looked easy to replace, 2.5 inch slot for a SATA SSD (I have 1TB added but you can wait in the future to add this), and 30Wh battery which should be disconnected when installing RAM and can be replaced to 52.5Wh also.

5) BIOS: Either don't connect to WiFi on initial setup then read up later to choose whether to update to newest BIOS provided by Lenovo or just let it update on Windows update. It should come with level 33 BIOS then try to update to level 37 which people don't like. There might be a newer one. There is a tool called Ryzen Controller to get around the thermal throttling issue and get maximum performance but it's more complicated to use so stick to a BIOS level known to be good (not 37).

Look for compatible upgrades page at: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/co...330s-15arr
You can find what parts this laptop has at: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/e...play/model
I found this YouTube video helpful in seeing the board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFzmeq4XWIk
Search for 330s videos on how to add RAM.

Don't buy if:
1) You mainly use it for gaming - integrated graphics is good here, but not for heavy graphics.
2) You need ethernet port, optical (CD/DVD) drive, or backlit keyboard (haven't used on any of the 3 laptops I've had with this).
3) You need it very bright - it goes up to 250 nits which is good to me, but you might want more.
4) You need long battery life - it gets 3 hours with load with 30Wh, but is supposed to be longer if you lower brightness and have basic usage such as 4 hours web browsing. Future option can be to replace with 52.5Wh battery.

Remember this is a budget laptop, but it's easy to add parts for future needs and it's just fun for learning how to replace things. Have fun playing with it! Applause

I've had this laptop since March. Earlier reviews complained about throttling and unstable faulty BIOS, both of which have been remedied in the latest update . If you're realistic about what the smaller battery will give you in terms of hours away from an outlet, it's a solid 4C/8T performer at a bargain price. Threw in a 16 gig stick and runs fine, totaling 20 GB ram (about 18 usable, after a bit is reserved for the Vega iGPU). First 8 runs in dual channel with the 4 GB already soldered onto the board. Top cover is aluminum which is a nice touch. Also has a empty 2.5 inch HDD/SSD caddy for all your pr0n, I mean storage needs.

Hard to beat the T's and X's. My dream lenovo/rig and an ancient decade old Lenovo x220. Want one modified with all open source hardware approved by the FSF. Company or two currently does this type of mod .

You sure about that? I believe it's 1080p, at least if this is the same one for sale prior to, and around, Black Friday.

I've never heard of a 15.6" 720p IPS laptop display (not saying they don't exist, but I've never seen or heard of one before).

https://ibb.co/74QcXKB

It's 1080p - notice it's the same model/part number

Should be great. I can't think of anything it's missing for anything you mentioned. In fact, it might even be slight overkill for that. If this is around what you were hoping to spend, it should be a great buy.

I got this for my teen cousin last time. Solid laptop for daily use, perfect for a student. IPS Display though not very vivid.
