Good price! I got it from Macy's during the BF sale for $111.99 and I included 10% cash back from an online site. Cash back from Walmart is currently up to 5%.

Best price I've seen was $102 so this is pretty good.

Make sure you have a compatible device https://www.lego.com/en-us/servic...uide/boost

If anyone is unfamiliar with this kit I got it for my five year old last Christmas and it's awesome. I paid a bit more than this, so it seems like a decent deal. We use a cheap Kindle Fire to run the app and it works great. There are also a few additional kits that work with the Boost sensors and motors.

Great price but I only recommend for younger kids (5-8). Boost decent but most everyone I know prefers WeDo 2.0. First Lego League Jr also uses WeDo 2.0 so take that into consideration. The upcoming spike prime is probably a better fit for 8 to 12 year olds, and mindstorms is king for 10 and up. Mindstorms and spike prime can both be used in First Lego league. So boost is the odd set out, it can't be used in any compensations. It's good if you want to tinker but it has limited use. The Lego education sets cost a bit more than retail sets but have more stuff, detailed lesson plans to help make the most out of the sets, etc.

We bought this last Christmas. I gave my son an old tablet just for use with this Boost set. We also bought the Lego Boost Idea book thinking it would give him additional things to create outside the projects build into the Lego app.

Over this past year he's built 2 things. The Robot and Guitar, then he become bored with it. He would rather play with his regular Legos. Definitely not for everyone.

If you do buy it, consider picking up a dedicated box for the pieces. Many of them are unique to the set. I am thankful we did that because even in their own container some pieces were difficult to find.

Is this compatible with regular legos? For instance, can you use the motors and treads to build other things?
