Sort of makes the 5 months for $5 deal not so much a deal.

Is it the same thing like Spotify, Pandora, Amazon music? What's the difference?

It is similar to those but more like the HiFi / CD quality offered by Amazon and some others. Definitely can tell the difference with good headphones and/or amp.

5 to get the family plan is still a solid deal. if you are solo, this is ob the better deal.

OMG, I wouldn't use the word "definitely" in this case.

Take these tests first to see if you can hear the difference between 128kbps and 320kbps. If you can, then maybe Tidal is worth it:

Why is this better than the 5 month deal? Isn't this 1 month less?

Agreed, or just rip your own favorite CDs in FLAC format...if you're going to listen on your phone then what's it matter anyway?

Most people can't tell the difference between 128knps and 320kbps, especially since everyone is using Bluetooth headsets these days.

I got it right although it doesn't sound that much different to me. I have Spotify Premium which is 320k. My receiver supports both Spotify and Tidal so I'm tempted to try out the Tidal Hi-Fi plan just to see if I can really tell the difference.

yup. so you just share the login/pwd with 4 other members to use the family plan? or do you need to setup each one separately?

Anyone is actually using tidal over more established streamers? They used to have exclusive artists, so rabid fans had no choice but to sign up, but profits were so low that most ran away to Spotify and Apple Music and not tidal's only marketing slogan is higher quality. But with how most of the music is consumed these days and with continuous improvements into compressing formats this is fake bait as in 99% of real day to day use you won't hear any difference.
