For anyone wondering about size. I'm 5'11, 165lbs athletic build, medium size fits really well. I can argue it's a bit loose around the waist when zipped up, but if i went for a size small I think it would be too tight around the shuolders/chest. I would stick to medium if you're around my build.

It's been a calm winter here in Chicago and the parka has kept me warm thus far. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Let me clarify for people: higher fill is warmer, but the amount of fill matters. 20 Oz of 650 fill is going to be warmer than 10 Oz of 850 fill. That is why you can't judge a jacket on the fill type alone, the fill weight matters as well. Visably, the fill weight on this jacket looks heavy so disregard the comment I'm replying to as without trying this jacket the person effectively has no clue.

EDIT Also, you wouldn't catch me dead in -30 F wearing this jacket, well... Maybe I'd be dead. Because for that to be even remotely comfortable this jacket would be more expensive than it is as it'd need a ton of down

Code also works on the Lodge parka. But overall, not a good price.

Shoot. Got a medium based on their size chart. Oh well I'll exchange it if need be.

Perfect. It doesn't get cold enough, long enough in DC to make a premium coat worth the price. This'll do just fine until we move back North.

The 229 retail makes it "seem" like a deal.

Is it a deal ?

It's $14 less than Amazon - Amazon has very limited sizes also

I just got a woman's Eddie Bauer parka to replace my old Columbia and that thing is a dream! Super warm and comfy. I'm surprised to hear all the bad reviews here ... guess I'll find out but so far I love it! I wish it was on sale for $100 is my only complaint!
