Also, there will be no more developing for it. I was at Facebook's Oculus Connect 6 Conference this year and was about 50 feet from John Carmack when they covered it. They are going to try to support your purchases on the Go to the Quest but no promises. Since it has such a puny processor and Oculus is walking away from it, there is no point for a developer (like me) to create anything for it and just focus on the Quest.

Nope. The new Quest can with a special cable. These are obsolete now and should be $50

Oculus Go is very comfortable for me with a VR cover pad. I have an Odyssey+ as well and the Go is probably more comfortable. I think the optics are fine. It's worth far more than $50 just for media consumption alone. Great device for watching movies on a flight.

Its great that standalone VR headsets are a thing now, but can it connect to a PC at all?

Still showing $199.99 at my local store. Showed clerk and store manager $129.99 "pending" price when placed in on-line cart. They didn't know what that meant but agreed to sell me two for this price. Required manager's override.

Agreed this is worth no more than $50 tops, the optics are so terrible and the way the unit fits on your face gave me an instant ocular pressure headache even with spending an hour trying to adjust it. Just buy a quest or Odyssey

What are you talking about? You must have an over sized head if after an hour, you were not able to adjust it to your face. I had this and it fit fine. Definitely not worth buying as there isn't much to do on it. I sold mine and plan on getting a quest later.

Ah, that's why it's so cheap.

OG? It will play with everything and be usable for future stuff You're only going to be limited to what your computer can handle. As far as the rift S, it's already starting to go on sale for 350 and is a good solution if you need spot on tracking because it uses hardware tracking. But I would actually recommend a valve index or a vibe if tracking is your number one goal. As far as inside out tracking, it seems like Quest is capturing most of the market. I don't know if that's going to be good or bad. Let's just say Facebook is definitely going to find a way to put advertising into your VR experience. As well as doing their best to make it difficult for you to run games you buy on steam on the quest but that's getting easier all the time. Also the table you can get for the quest that goes to your PC will treat it as a hardwired VR helmet and since the resolution on the quest is higher than the other headsets it makes it a no-brainer is the default now.
