I found this kit stacked out at the contractor/lumber checkout. There were about a dozen at my store, but checking online it showed OOS. It is the Octane Brushless version with the good drill (all metal chuck), new Octane Brushless impact driver with 3 modes or speeds, and the newer Octane 3 and 6ah BT batteries along with a charger. The sign said it was originally $399, and online it is showing a "Special Buy" of $349. I have many Rigid tools from the X4, Gen 5X, and Brushless lines, but the Octane ones are by far the best. I am very impressed with this kit and if you can find it in your store at this price it is a steal.

Definitely a good deal with those batteries/tools.

Here is the Brickseek link, shows as clearance at a lot of my stores - https://brickseek.com/home-depot-...=308056195

Shame it is so difficult to sell the batteries (already have enough).

Picked up one as I need a 2nd hammer drill. Pretty good and far more solid than the X4 I have.

Few of these floating around clearance racks in my local HDs

2 of these were left at the depot on Stringtown road, Columbus, Ohio

They were located not in the tool aisle but on the floor where seasonal tools live.

Found a couple in the clearance aisle in Chandler, AZ. Picked one up and they allowed me to use my Veteran's discount. $185 out the door. Thanks OP.

I bought the blemished version from Directtools Outlet for $149.99, no tax + free shipping. Bought it on the 7th. It was shipped on the 15th. Haven't received it yet and I wasn't given a tracking number...

Hopefully getting this kit from Directtools will be worth the savings.

Just picked one up. Great deal! Was a nightmare to find, first associate pointed to the "not available for store pickup" in my HD app and when I protested told me to ask hardware. Second associate told me to check the clearance section (it wasn't there). 3rd hardware associate told me to check clearance. Finally went to my car, called the store and gave the SKU#, said there were 5 in stock. Went back to store to the prodesk, associate there looked up SKU# and printed out the page showing 5 in stock and started talking to a hardware associate. While I was following her, I walked by a random end cap with only one of the exact item I was looking for on it (she didn't notice) but with a $230 clearance sticker on it. Grabbed it, and the associate checked and it rang up as $190...

Several blemished items only mention a 3 year warranty and not the LSA. The specs on this hammer drill do mention a limited lifetime warranty but given how picky the LSA registration is rumored to be not sure I'd want to risk it. My recent Directtools order have taken over 3 weeks to ship due to the Christmas rush, not that I mind.

Every new or blemished Ridgid tool comes with a 3-year warranty automatically. The LSA is in addition to that and you need to register for it and it's been well established in lots of these threads that the LSA is available for blemished tools from Direct Tools. The registration process even mentions blems from Direct Tools.

Is this what you bought? https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...it/p/R9205

If so, then the one you bought are Gen5X which may or may not be the same as Octane depending on the model sent. Some people are saying it's just the Octane battery making the performance difference, but just be aware of this.

Thanks for posting this, I purchased the Octane 3AH and 6AH batteries for $99 a few weeks ago not realizing they would be 3 year warranty instead of LSA. I returned them and picked up this set for $190.

Is there a standard drill that goes with this? I like the idea of purchasing this for the batteries and very occasional use of these tools but really need a basic drill.

You know this is just a regular drill with a hammer function, right?

Exactly, you can turn the hammer function on/off. The only disadvantage of the hammer drill is that it may be a little larger/heavier than a "standard" drill driver" (I haven't compared them).
