Would this be good for an emulator game cabinet? I would imagine it'd be fine to play the older games?

Edit* I did some browsing and it seems for the tabletop cabinet I'd like to build a 24" would be better
If you are looking to play classic games then a 4:3 ratio monitor would be better. The game will fill the screen and look better. With a 16:9 monitor you will be wasting a lot of screen space and it's not like you need the high resolution. You can pick up used 4:3 monitor for almost nothing. I see tons of them on my local Facebook marketplace for $20-$25.

Example: A 24" 16:9 monitor will be 11.8" tall and 20.9" wide. However, only 15.7" of the width will be used. Basically the same as a 20" 4:3 monitor.

The lowest price this monitor has ever been was in Black Friday 2017 for $75 at Staples. It's never been that low ever since. There is a VESA adapter for it on Amazon selling for around $20 last time I checked. It's a stick on glue type mounted on an adapter bracket. Not sure how long that would last but apparently it works.

Why buy a large 1080p monitor? You really want to get a 4k now a days. I would suggest saving your money.
Because your eyes are old and you don't want to have to constantly magnify microscopic letters....

I would love to get this as my 2nd office monitor. My current one is a small 4:3 15", ugh.

If you want to spend an extra $30 there is a VESA adaptor
Gladiator Joe Monitor Arm/Mount VESA Bracket Adapter Wall Mount Compatible with Dell SE2717HR
https://www.amazon.com/Gladiator-...B06Y1VN3XF

It kind of kills the deal though. Not sure why they even make non VESA monitors. Can't cost much to add 4 bolt holes on the back.

I have had one of these for a few months now after getting it for the same price, great monitor. Mostly use it for gaming on my xbox on my computer desk but also use it for my laptop screen when i am doing some music work. Adapter issues aside its a great monitor for the price

I bought two of these at Staples for $80 each two Black Friday's ago. I use them at my office in a dual monitor setup. There isn't a DisplayPort connector on the monitor, so I needed an adapter for my video card, but they haven't given any trouble at all. If I needed more monitors I wouldn't hesitate to spend $109 on them.

You can do split screen with any monitor. It's backed into at least Windows 7 and above.
