YMMV: I was only charged $55.99 on an account that had previously expired and was not renewed. If anyone else who signs up, please chime in re: what you get charged Smilie

If you're only in it for the shows and movies, which seems to be the focus of the comments so far, then the service is going to be disappointing, especially if you do a 1-year sub. You'd be better off just grabbing a month when a show is over and watching everything you want.

If you want to read comics and watch the shows and TV, it's a great deal. It's a 1-year delay from publication (compared to Marvel Unlimited's 6-month delay), but there's a TON of books and more added every Tuesday. They have basically everything from mainline DC comics for the last 80 years, and as they digitize old stuff they're adding it to the service in addition to new weekly stuff. If you take advantage of the whole service, I think this is easily worth the money.

There are some omissions though, just to present a fair picture. The service is focused on DC proper, not any of its subsidiaries like Vertigo (now DC Black Label). And the services is focused on single issues of books. OGNs are not on the service. DC has never really been in that space much, but there are a few books that never released as single issues that aren't on the service as a result.

Again, if you're going to use all of the service, it's a very good deal. I wouldn't grab an annual sub just for TV and movies though. It's slim, but that seems to be by design.

The standard price is $7.99 per month (temporarily discounted to $5.99/mo during this sale) or $74.99 if you commit to a full year upfront (discounted to $59.99/year during this sale). Hope this helps Smilie

I have had it for year and really enjoy it. It is worth the price if you take advantage of all the features including the comics.

They have pretty solid originals, but I believe those originals like Titans are also on HBO Max.

Is it normally $5.99 per month? Can't be. That would be cheaper than a year sub at full price. But it doesn't say there is a discount for the monthly sub.

Regardless, It's not worth a $1 a month savings for me to commit to the service for an entire year. Could probably stream what you need in a month or two.

How is this service? Thinking about finally trying out comics on my ipad... So it is 5.99 a month for the monthly as well? So no need to commit for a year?

I have it and the service itself is still pretty rough. It's not quite as polished as Netflix, Hulu, or Prime. It doesn't queue up properly if you come back later, which is annoying to me.

Thanks for the heads up! I signed up but the email I received mentioned the $74.99 price. Since I'm new to the service, my 7 day trial period just began so I'm not sure how much they will charge me. I'll contact customer service, when I have a chance, to make sure I get the cheaper price.

Yes. There is an Xbox app. But it can be slightly buggy at times (at least my experience).

Overall, it's a decent service but strictly for fans. The breadth or content is not there, and after you've watched the few new series, it's mostly back-catalogs. That being, said the new series are all pretty decent. Doom Patrol is great, Titans is decent too.

The combination of series and comics is what makes this service unique. They are behind Marvel in terms of the comic service, but it's good enough (at least for casual fans like me who don't follow arcs too closely). You can even read comics on the TV (it shows one panel at a time) - depending on the set up, one might appreciate that.

Only problem is - future of the service is uncertain. They clearly haven't had too many subscribers. And all new TV content will either be shared with the HBO Max service or will debut there. Of course - HBO Max will be $15-$20 per month. And this is a much cheaper service (especially with these sales). Trick is to cancel before the year is up. And wait for them to either offer you a better price, or the next sale. For the casual fan, $75 a year is a bit much in my opinion.

Not a bad price, but the only show I'm interested in watching is Human Target.

The app I still think needs some work. Doesn't work as efficient as marvel unlimited but I can't complain. I get to catch up on all the issues.
