Yes. I have this set, as stated in my comment. I've used them for multiple projects.

These are plastic clamps, and yes, they have their limitations. That said, they're not completely useless, and they're not dogshit (Source: I regularly pick up after a dog, and am extremely familiar with dog shit), they're just cheap clamps. Maybe your workshop has no room for cheap clamps, and that's great for you, that you've got the resources and will to spend for expensive clamps. Not everyone does, and a lot of those people like a good deal, and the audience of this page definitely has a lot of people in those two buckets.

This is a good price for mid-range clamps, and everyone should buy them knowing what they're getting. It's not a bad deal, and crapping on it just makes you look like a snob.
Fair enough. If I am a "clamp snob", then so be it.

I said what I said to be helpful to those who don't already know the difference between these and real clamps, which isn't obvious to the untrained eye.

There have been deals on real clamps posted recently here, which I feel the majority of clamp users would be much better served by.

I bought this item for $23.98 about 5 days ago online store pickup. I got on a text chat with Lowe's whose asinine policy is to not price match their own clearance items. So I'd have to go to the store return and repurchase.

Obviously not. Would you buy a bag of dogshit if it was _only_ 15 cents?

Have you guys who are replying actually used Irwin clamps before?
I think some people would buy that bag and give it to you and feel like it was a good investment.

In for 2 (gifts for the family)

That's funny. I have a pack of these in my car right now to give to a coworker for Christmas. I bought 6 packs the last time they went on clearance a year ago, only paid $7.50 then though.

These are pretty decent starter clamps, borrowed these from a friend and very satisfied. Not sure how they compare to Jorgensen though?
The Jorgensen are a lot more robust and have much larger clamping pad areas. There are a lot more attachments that you can use with the Irwin clamp system that are nice that I have not seen for Jorgensen.

Overall I probably use my Jorgensen 70% of the time, this set 5% and cheap ol pipe clamps the other 25%.

Are these much better than the harbor freight clamps? They have a deal on the similar 6" bar clamp for $2.20: https://www.harborfreight.com/6-i...MyJ9%0D%0A
I have very poor experiences with HF clamps. They tend to break on me on the first use. And I am not in any way an HF hater. I have a lot of stuff from them. But the clamps seem to be terrible. Also anything with rubber will smell up your house for months.

Buying this item has been like buying a stock. I have bought this twice and returned the new pick up right there. Will do it again.

These clamps are great and already paid for itself. I used it to build 4 speaker boxes and one dry bar.

A true SDer would absolutely, definitely buy the bag of dogsXXX at 15 cents (assuming there is a coupon code out there for another 20% off and free shipping).

Anyone know how these compare to Dewalt clamps like these?

https://www.homedepot.com/p/205418759

I like my Dewalt ones and deciding if it's worth saving $20 for the Irwin's or if the throat depth will be annoying.

Someone in the trad from last week indicated this set was much better than the dewalt set.

These are real clamps. Maybe they don't have the clamping power of more expensive and harder to use clamps, but the one handed clamping convenience of these clamps is very useful in a wide variety of situations where you need to clamp something to something else.

Unless I'm doing a big glue up that's going to require some pressure, these are the ones I grab first. They're great for clamping jigs to the workbench, attaching a temporary fence to a table saw, clamping a square to two pieces that are going to be screwed together, holding a stop block on a miter saw fence, temporarily suspending a pipe from the floor joists, holding a tarp in a doorway to control construction mess, etc. etc. etc.
