My xbox gold live account expired today and by combining different offers it is possible to get 37 months of game pass ultimate for $111.89. If you are a costco member you end up only paying $101.88

1. Used the xbox live gold 1 month for $1 offer (now at 1 month of gold subscription for $1 spent)
2. Used this thread to add 3 months at $9.99 multiple times till I had added the deal 11 times (now at 34 months of gold subscription for $110.89) - This is the YMMV part, some people do not get this deal through xbox.com, worth giving it a shot to see if you get the offer, if not stop here as this deal won't work for you
3. Used the game pass ultimate offer of $1 for 1 months plus additional 2 months free, which is $1 for 3 months. This offer also upgrades your entire gold subscription to game pass ultimate, works for new subscribers of game pass ultimate only. (now at 37 months of game pass ultimate for $111.89)

I purchased a $100 xbox gift card for $89.99 from Costco xbox $100 gift card digital download [costco.com] (emailed to you within an hour) to use for this, for a net deal expense of $101.88. Recommend you get to step 2 above to see if this step works for you before buying the xbox gift card from Costco

Posting this to consolidate all the available offers for those without an existing subscription. All these offers are found through the xbox.com website, and by following the order above you will be able to get the most out of the offers in terms of cost/month while enjoying the benefits of game pass ultimate. My Microsoft account confirms I have game pass ultimate till 1/23/2023.

Also, to clarify - I did not create a new microsoft account. I used my same xbox/microsoft account that had the just expired xbox gold membership. The "new subscribers only" part refers to never having signed up for game pass ultimate in the past.

What am I missing?

I see the deals for GOLD, but how does that get you ULTIMATE for 37 months? I'm only seeing the deal for 3 months of ULTIMATE for $1.....where is the other 34 months?

The thread you linked is for 3 months of GOLD for $10.....no mention of ULTIMATE.

You can upgrade your existing xbox live gold time to ultimate for $1. If you have 30 months of gold left and pay $1 it will convert that 30 months of gold to 30 months of ultimate. I did this back during E3, but I think the deal is back. Pretty sure it works the same way it did back then.

It is the case if you haven't signed up for GPU yet. Stock up on gold, then do the $1/1mo GPU then all banked months all get upgraded.

Yes, it upgrades your entire existing gold subscription to ultimate, while also adding 3 months. Updated post to clarify.

I'm new to it myself but in addition to giving you the ability to play multiplayer games online (which is what xbox live gold does) it also gives you a library of games (over 100) for the xbox that you have unlimited access to. It also provides a library of PC games if you are interested in that.

For an extra $1 to upgrade an existing gold subscription probably worth considering.

Unable to get the $9.99 for 3 months offer. Signed up with a new microsoft account and paid the $1 for 1 month. Turned off autorenew, no $10/3mo offer.

When you are on the xbox live gold splash page, select "gift xbox gold live", not "join now". Then click the drop down box to select 3 months. I just checked and this continues to work for me showing a price of $24.99 crossed out and and new price of $9.99 (I'm logged in when I do this). Here's the splash page I'm referring to:

Yep tried that. Still shows $24.99/quarterly, along with $10/mo and $60/year. No discount for me. Seems lots of others in the linked thread are having the same issues. So YMMV. Note I've tried logging in using multiple browsers, private mode, mobile browsers, enabling/canceling auto recurring billing, etc. Still no $10/3mo offer.

Recommend everyone try the process first to see if they can get the $10/3 months deal BEFORE buying the costco gift card.

Unfortunately I bought the costco gift card first. Any chance they'll let me return it?

I've also had no luck getting it to show the deal. I thought I was missing something in the process but it doesn't appear that way.

Interesting. Wish I had known about this before today.

Bought the kid the 3 month ultimate deal from Newegg (with extra 3 months)...I guess that was around $40.....this was after I found out my wife was doing the monthly auto-renew for Gold at $10 a month!

Logged into my account to see where to turn off auto-renew and saw the $1 offer for 3 months and signed up for that. I really don't play Xbox much, but I just remembered that I also have a 6 month card for Gold that I haven't used yet.....nice to know I could have gotten 9 months for that $1 purchase!

Alternatively, get a time machine and set the recurring payment to $.05/day for an even better deal. Wink

This is pretty slick at $33/yr for GPU though.

I am salty I missed that deal, but this one comes out to under $0.10 a day. Twice nearly twice as much and yet still a solid price.
