What you'll need to start:
A stainless steel (preferably) stock pot, at least 3 gallon capacity. Aluminum will do.
A basic brewing kit. Northern Brewer item #7601 [northernbrewer.com]
A recipe kit [northernbrewer.com]. I would suggest a porter or a stout for your first brew, as dark brews are very forgiving of beginner mistakes. I would suggest using US-05 dry yeast.
A fermometer, NB item #7411 [northernbrewer.com]
Starsan Sanitizer, NB item #7930 [northernbrewer.com]
I would *highly* suggest some Fermcap-S, unless you like scrubbing nasty gooey dried up wort off your stovetop, NB item #9136 [northernbrewer.com]

Yeah, just for fermenting, at least to being with. Maybe eventually I rig it up to do more but for now, it's just too F'n hot to try and brew. The house is kept at about 80 degress and it's a pain to try and do the whole tub of water/towel thing. Plus I figure this will help get the temps more consistent. Would H.D. or Lowes carry one?
I bought the single stage temp controller from Northern Brewer for $79. It's digital and pre-wired. So, no messing with electricity. Very easy to use. Brian has the same one. Item 40090. I used it on my current brew. Fermentation temp was about 65-66 all the time. It only kicks on about 4-5 times a day.

K, thanks. I have to order up some Montrachet and Plastic Bottles anyways because my local Home Brew store doesn't carry them.

I found directions on how to open my sankey keg [youtube.com]. I'm going to try it for this brew but still will buy the conversion kit and any future kegs will be cornies.
