That eventually has nothing to do with mint. Your number has been exposed a lot in unnecessary registrations by you or it has been owned by someone else in the past and they used the number to sign up or register in many places are not trustworthy. Carriers won't mess with selling your numbers as it hurts their quality of service by robocalls etc.

just get some friends for party discount and stick with visible. i've been using mint for years and the quality of their service is getting worse. data feels like it's getting throttled all the time. I have 3gb a month but my data runs out unusually quick even though I hardly stream music, never stream video. Unless you are prepaying for a whole year, your bill ends up being like 22 something with taxes with mint. With visible, you get unlimited albeit throttled service from verizon for $25 all in if you get party discount. if you are willing to prepay for a year, just jump on one of those Red Pocket deals for Verizon or AT&T and you'd still be better off.

Has anyone used one of these to successfully port out the number they give you, so I can get a deal with another carrier?

I'm interested to know as well but not very optimistic.. it's really a hassle to make their customer service give you account and pin info for regular paid service so I guess this would be even more difficult

For anyone who has done this, is there an option to port in your number during the 7-day trial?
