I cannot emphasize enough, be sure to verify the balance either if the card is for you or have the recipient do so. On Amazon's last lightning deal for the same Chipotle gift card, it sent me a non-activated card with $0.00 balance.

Apparently either because of the holiday or otherwise, their customers service has regressed to unempowered awful. When I immediately brought this to Amazon's attention, online chat rep tried to blame me and state that these cards cannot be returned. I emphasized how the card was invalid, and also could have been a big embarrassment if given as a gift and recipient tried to redeem in restaurant.

Eventually the rep agreed to help, said he found an alert that this was a global issue and try to reassure me it would be fixed within the hours. No email other than the pat you on the back customer service survey or any type of follow-up. Had to follow up again to finally get resolution - if the new card actually has a balanced this time.

Just wanted to throw this out there, I've not had bad Amazon gift card experiences before but it was very specific to this holiday season and this restaurant.

It's an okay deal. All the chipotle in the Boston area are running a buy $30 gift card, get a bogo coupon for free. So essentially it's spend 37.50 for 45 in value. A slightly better deal.

Also on the bogo cards you can usually add guac to the second bowl or burrito and only pay for the lesser value item.

Not everyone has the luxury of residing in Boston.

Exact same thing happened to my card too! Took several chats to get it sorted out . Apparently there is another issue these cards won't scan easily at chipotle restaurant pos machines ! They have to enter manually .. ymmv

Hmmm, interesting... On Christmas day I bought an Amazon gift card for my niece, then a couple of days later I got an apology email saying they had technical difficulties and they gave me a $5 credit. I had no idea why at the time, but I wonder if these are related?

The rep that I chatted with yesterday who did initiate a replacement card, also, his idea not mine, said I would be getting a $5 credit. As of now, 24 hours later nothing has happened. I just want my gift card and one that has the $50 value
