Yup. This is probably the cheapest RTX 2070 laptop and checks all the boxes. Decent Cooling, Thunderbolt 3, 144 Hz display, big capacity SSD.

Wait and check it in continuously. Sometimes Walmart items like this, goes on and off between in Stock and Out of Stock.

I have the 8750 version with GTX 1060 6GB and it thermal throttles all the time. Also sounds like a jet engine when I'm doing anything other than surfing the web... Kind of hesitant to buy another Omen unless they have really fixed all the cooling in their new product lines.

Here is the review link of the laptop, with i7-8750H but rest are same. This model is just a refresh with 9750H but using exact same chasis and build. So, they are pretty much comparable.

I posed this a while back, and people seemed less than enthusiastic. I guess a few weeks makes all the difference.

I bought this when it was in stock a couple weeks ago. It's a fantastic laptop. It has an extra storage bay for a 2.5" drive, with everything inside. To open it, you just need to take out the 8 phillips screws, and then use a card to pop it open. I put in a 2TB Samsung EVO 860, which is on sale at Amazon for $170.

Now for the bad news. It has the RTX 2070 Max Q, not the full RTX 2070. I told Walmart and HP about it, and they still haven't fixed the page. I was going to take it back but decided to keep it. The next comparable with a full RTX 2070 I could find was $300 more on sale anyways.

I bought this to replace a 3.5 year old Gigabyte P37, and this is a lot quieter. It's a night and day difference. My wife can sit next to me and watch TV now without asking me to leave the room. The fans do crank up when you are pushing it, but it's really not as bad as any other laptop I have owned.

FYI - The Thunderbolt port is 2 lanes not 4. Just mentioning it here since HP doesn't mention this anywhere and I didn't find out until I tried to connect two monitors via a laptop dock with no success.
