Looks like only "communication" like phone calls. "Auto" does things like weather, music, etc.

...although not very well.

EDIT:
Nevermind, reading is hard. This does every else too I guess

does it connect to internet via BT like Amazon Auto? (key difference so you don't have to enable hotspot each time)

Also no aux out?

Here's the first question (and couple of responses) on amazon product page:

Q: Is this connecting to the internet via a mobile hot spot?

A: No, instead it connects to your phone (via Bluetooth and a phone app) and uses that for internet.
if your phone is connected to the mobile hotspot, then it would use the hotspot.

A: Horrible product do not buy. Do not trust Amazon reviews because I was blocked from leaving a negative review. App drains phone battery. Roav will not always connect to phone. Device spends more time tryin to connect than working.

Based on the reviews it's basically a good idea with a poor product..

I looked at the most recent reviews from Dec 2019 which are more likely to reflect the most recent update and they are bad. Looks like it's not even worth $5.

I have this and I wouldn't recommend it. There is no support for Spotify music. My first unit stopped working and I got a replacement. Just recently the new unit will not connect to my iPhone XR. Also streaming Amazon music is using cellular minutes. It's also inconvenient to update firmware of this device because I can only do that when I'm driving - using the car.

Amazon Auto connects to your phone Via bluetooth, which Amazon Auto sends commands via bluetooth to the Alexa app on the phone, then your phone does all the data and processing at that point (through the Alexa app). So if you share a car with someone, the device only pairs to one persons phone and is useless unless that phone is with you.

With that said, I love my Amazon Auto. Curious to try this out to have my car a little less cluttered.

I feel it won't be as good at recognizing commands with less microphones, and typically mounted lower, where it may have issues with echos (no pun intended).

Cumbersome, had to connect, reconnect every time i get to my car. Used to work fine but consistently unreliable.

This thing is just a pain in the ass. So unreliable. Don't know if it's going to be in a good mood today and actually be connected to my phone or not. I've since moved on to Echo Auto. While it isn't perfect, at least it seems to stay connected to my phone 99% of the time.

I have this one for a while now. This connects to your phone bt and then to internet using the roav viva app. They release firmware patches every now and then to improve performance. It seems to work fine on my 2017 subaru legacy. I had the Amazon auto and sold it since I had to shout at it every time.
