H&R Block promo disc in the mail - $10 off plus additional $5 off

This is for promo discs that come in the mail from H&R Block.

The promo disc includes a one time use code for $10 off the software of your choice.

As in previous years, first load the disc and make a software choice. Then hit the title bar "X" to close the window. Instead of closing the window you'll be given an additional $5.00 off the offered price. Finally, enter the $10 code that came with the disc and make your purchase.

I bought Deluxe (no state) for $19.95:

$34.95 original price
-$5.00 additional discount as described above
-$10.00 promo code included with disc
---------
$19.95 Final cost

It is not someone created the xml, but just copied it from the promotional CD that has that offer. I bet they no longer provides these offers as they have established their market presence.

I got this CD a couple weeks ago too. I need the Deluxe plus state which is $29.95 before the well known $5 off bonus. However, I would rather skip that $5 off so that I can use the AmEx offer. Anyway, I am waiting for better deal as this backup offer is available through April.

My disc had a $15 off code and I get an additional $5 using the method above so it's coming out to $15 for Deluxe, no State. Still on the fence as I would like to get it down to the $10 range...

I got Deluxe (no state) for $5. My mailer had a $25 coupon (one-time use) and I did the back out for another $5 off. After using H&R Block for years, last year I went with Turbotax, so maybe that's the reason.

If you don't mind, please upload the disc image, or just the .xml file (in "lib" folder).

Wasn't the Newegg deal a few days ago for Deluxe (no state) cheaper at $15?

Yes, I second this request. I would do it if I actually received the disc, but I haven't gotten one this year. Maybe they just haven't sent it out yet.

So this year's disc appears to be different from last years' discs. In previous years it would install the program from the CD. In this year's, all that comes up is a splash screen with the order form, and once you place the order it downloads the files over the Internet. I am unable to access the contents of the CD through File Explorer, unless I'm missing something.

I should add the price on the splash screen was the full retail price ($35) until you entered the one-time code from the envelope.
