There is a limited number in stock in blue at this price point. One of the 5 best beginner electrics out there under $500, in my opinion.

With a tune-o-matic bridge and humbucker pickups, this is a great entry level guitar for a beginner to start out on if you want to pass on the sub-$200 entry level quality and step it up to midrange quality. Yes I know it's blue, that's probably why it costs less.

Lowest new price amazon has ever listed it at.

Me too. Love blue!

I also like the infamous 'Pelham Blue' on Gibsons also.

I would assume a Gibson SG type sound?

Great deal, thank you for sharing it! It's less than any used model currently on Reverb.
I hope you don't mind; I've shared this to https://www.reddit.com/r/guitardeals

Totally. Or the classic Ford color called Grabber Blue.

Hi there! I own a similar guitar (820CR) with similar pickups and materials. I don't think the features of the 820CR are worth the cost increase.

This has a thinner neck than mine, so expect something closer to a strat in terms os playability. I have the medium thickness neck, with is closer to an LP. The fretboard is pretty flat, and it takes time to get used to it coming from a more vintage 9.5" radius neck. I lightly sanded the back of the neck, because it was pretty glossy. Just taped it off and used a scotch bright.

Please note that the frets for some of these Revstars are large and beautifully polished, and you will likely go up a string gauge when compared to a standard stratocaster. (10's work, but 11's might do better. 9's tend to be extremely touch sensitive, and you will go out of tune if you use a lot of pressure.)

Most reviews will label the pickups as close to PAF tone with a more modern bridge that has a little more output. I find them to be closer to PAF. People place the tone closer to a les Paul with 59's than something like a burst buckers pro that comes in a les Paul studio. Nothing sounds like a les Paul, but this guy is more in that realm.

The pickups are manufactured by the same company that makes PRS SE pickups. They appear to be spec'd for Yamaha alone, and I think they are excellent through both a Fender Style amp or a Marshall silver Jubilee combo. I never cared for PRS SE pickups, and I think PRS guys would love to swap these in. Yamaha makes quality in my experience, and this guitar fits the bill.

Is this my favorite guitar? No I cannot say it is. I am a strat guy, but there is something about this guitar that makes me pick it up and play. It is a different animal than my Les Paul or my Strat, despite having the scale length of a LP. I say that as a compliment.

I prefer this over PRS SE in terms of comfort. If you watch the Andertons review on YouTube, you can see what it's about. They also have a reviewer who goes to this guitar when playing a Egnator Rebel amp that shows what it can do for shredding/rock music.

This one has a standard bridge, which isn't as pretty as mine, but it's a perk in my eyes. My 820CR bridge has less adjustment and is a bit of a pita. Its is a wrap around type that comes on some Revstars. Just something for the home guitar tech looking at Revstars.

I bought the red one for 450 in August. I ve been playing the acoustic for a few years and wanted to start learning electric guitar techniques and although I have not had much experience judging electric guitars, I can say this was a great buy. So I highly doubt you can go wrong with this. For 300 bucks it's a steal!
