Planet Fitness - 20 cents down / $10 month with no annual commitment

I figured they'd post something for the New Years resolution crowd, and I was right.

This is right on their front page, so I think it's franchise-wide.

$0.20 startup fee, $10/mo, and a $39 annual fee (which I believe isn't charged until February).

For comparison, the startup fee is usually something like $30-40, and the $10 a month plan has a one year requirement (otherwise it's $15 a month for the no commitment plan).

https://www.planetfitness.com/

Expires January 9th.

(Yes, the previous YMMV $99 / year deal was less expensive, but it's expired. This is still good for anyone whose franchise didn't offer that deal, or who wants to sign up but not commit to a full year.)

Decent gym for beginners. If you've been working out a while and prefer free weights make sure you check the gym out before signing up. The locations near me only have dumbbells up to 50lbs, and the only other free weights are Smith machines. No bench press, incline press, squat rack, etc. If you're just looking for cardio and basic weight training then you'll be fine.

My local one is 24/5. I was thinking "WTF is 24/5?" turns out it closes Friday 8pm - 8am and Saturday 8pm - 8am.

Wha?

Who would workout at this sh*t gym?
Beginners and / or for those who cannot afford gym memberships at $50 - $60+ per month.
