owners manual: https://1e18z23t25kn1a9twkg87cma-...Manual.pdf

Hose diameter: 5.9", straight hose couplings exit at 45 deg angle toward ceiling. Optional bent connectors for unit-side cost extra if venting through ceiling or floor.

Warranty: 60 days with pre-paid return freight to S California service center. Customer pays freight 61-365 days to obtain one year parts, labor warranty and for 3 years compressor warranty. Customer must retain all original packing. Mfg warranty void if vents are restricted ( warning about use of your own screen ) or not per approved install or if recommended cleaning is not performed. Best to open on-line case, upload photos and get pre-approval for your installation and to document cleaning to make warranty claims more difficult to deny.

Optional Amazon Assurion protection plan: Covers return freight, parts, labor for 4 years beyond the first. No need to retain packaging. $44 - 4 year comprehensive protection plan. Assurion told me on the phone that they will also cover the return freight during the mfg one year warranty. Getting that in writing via email is advised. This should give you five years total protection.

Condensate: internal capacity 2 pints in the base. Self vaporizing, does not require draining in most climatic conditions. Continuous drain hose is allowed. If continuous drainage is necessary, a 5/8" x 1/2" stretchy silicon water hose will fit over the drain port of the air conditioner.

"Operates more efficiently without continuous drainage." "The self-evaporating system recirculates collected moisture over the internal condenser coils which allows cooler air and more efficient operation." The drain is at the very bottom. May spill out if tilted even if drain is capped. May fail to shut off when full resulting in overflow. Use a catch pan to protect your floor. Drain outlet accepts 5/8" x 1/2" soft silicone tube.

Efficiency and noise: Not Energy Star rated. Dual hose units employ an extra fan and motor to suck in outside air to cool the condenser. Therefore they consume extra power, about 10-20% more power (10.9 amps current) than single hose models, and are noisier. They still waste some indoor conditioned air because the second hose is only capable of providing a portion of the air required for removing heat from the internal condenser. Nevertheless most say that they cool faster than a single hose unit.

Heat pump models available: Those who are currently using electric resistance heating may wish to hold out for a heat pump PAC as they provide more heat than resistance type heaters, are more energy efficient than resistance heat and can be used year round. "SH" designates the heat pump model.

Satisfaction rate: Many people are happy with their dual hose units while others ultimately find them too ungainly loud or find the extra large 6" venting hoses difficult to install.

Can this model provide fresh air to the living space and exhaust stale room air? Unlikely but unverified at this time.

New low income program: The federal low income heating assistance program is beginning to roll out subsidy for mini-split systems. Qualified low income families including renters are eligible. Check to see if available in your area.

Hope this helps, Timbertop

Double vent but they're right next to each other so I recommend jury-rigging dryer vent covers onto it so the fresh air intake and exhaust are not facing each other. Doing so would also prevent squirrels and other weird things from getting into the vents.

Put the price in title so you don't get downvoted. Remove the word "activated", abbreviate "with" as "w/", and remove the duplicate "AC". This then makes more room to also add an "@ Amazon & Home Depot" in the title too.

I have one of these. I spent time in an apartment with no AC and this thing saved my sanity. It kept my bedroom quite cold. It's very loud, but that's the nature of any of these portable AC units. I spent three summer seasons in this horrible living situation and it worked for me. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of these if I NEEDED a portable AC. If you can use a window AC or if you have enough money to buy a mini split system, by all means go that route. Portable AC's are not efficient and loud and definitely a last resort(but one saved my sanity, so they have purpose)

We have the same one in the garage,we went through the wall to the outside, used dryer vent covers on the outside of the house 15 inches apart.Insulated the indoor hoses, made them as short as possible, and I made covers for them from small fleece blankets in a gray color.Looks good outside, works great in Louisiana summers.

Please refer to wiki I provided. There seems to be a general misunderstanding about dual hose models such as this one. They use more energy and are noisier but cool faster. The extra inlet hose provides some but not all of the air required to extract heat from the condenser (ultimately heat from your room) and transfer it outdoors. The balance of the machinery-cooling air still comes from inside which you paid to cool. It is not the completely closed circuit as some imagine such as seen in a window unit.

Take away: It cools faster. Dual hose is in theory more efficient but the design consumes more power. Some Wynters customers say they do not realize any benefit in energy savings or that it does not get cold enough or that the extra large 6" hoses are ungainly or difficult to install. Pros: It should work better, larger diameter hoses are preferred.

I'm holding out for the "SH" model with the heat pump for all season use. Heat pumps offer significant energy savings over traditional electric resistance heating.

Dual hose for the win. Single hose units by their nature must pull in hot outside air into the rest of the house.
