When it states brown switches, it doesn't technically mean cherry mx brown switches, right? Just similar functionality/tactile response to cherry mx browns?

I may be mistaken, but I think they use Kailh Brown not Cherry. FWIW however, I've had just as many cherry switches die in 10+ years of using various mech keys, as I've had Kailh switches die (and it's only around 5 switches on either side).

Usually when people think a key has "died" it's double actuation caused by dust.... And for my money the best dustproof keys are Kailh "box" variants (I use box whites on a Glorious GMMK).

I bought this when it was on Frontpage the previous time. I'm currently using it to type and I think there's more actuation force than I expected. I've been using MX Cherry Speed with my Corsair keyboard so that may be why but I definitely do like the tactile feeling of Brown switches.

How does Kailh Brown switch perform compared to Cherry Brown? Also, what are the major/minor differences?

Honestly I don't think there is much of a difference at all.
