CVS - What did I do wrong?

13 10 January 3, 2020 at 04:31 PM Get CVS coupons Coupons
Bought one $10 item

I had $5 Extrabucks and a 40% off coupon

CVS took off the Extrabucks before the 40% off coupon, so the coupon took off $2 instead of $4.

Was this because I only bought one item? If I bought more than one, would it have prevented this scenario? CVS cash registers are tricky. Learning how to navigate them can save lots of money.

Thanks in advance,

pb

In my experience retail places do what's best for them rather than you, they apply $s off then %.

My first experience with Apple blew my mind as it's the only time I've ever seen % then $s applied!

You did nothing wrong. The percent-off coupon will reduce when you these coupons:
Beauty Club Reward
Purchase-Based Coupons (e.g. $4/$20)
Manual- or Force-printed extrabucks
Expired extrabucks or other manual discounts
Any coupon that scans as a "cvs coupon"
Other percent-off coupons (if you're using more than one
