When did you travel there? We went there twice last year, and everywhere we went (Taipei, Taichung, Chiayi, Alishan...) people spoke English. Big cities like Taipei and Taichung have street signs in Chinese and English.

okay guys. remember, this is from SALT LAKE CITY where low airfares to far away places are rare. i get that leaving from los angeles or new york is much cheaper. now if you said something like oklahoma, tucson or somewhere like that, then i'll shut up.

Took me 3 days to find someone that spoke english in Taipei. Best food I've had in Asia, crazy traffic, fairly inexpensive country , lots of history and misinformation ...you gotta see the jade cabbage
Extremely safe country

United sucks. Delta was $501 to Shanghai from slc yesterday. Not the best deal imo.

Taipei is "okay" in my book but Taiwan's countryside is off the chain. From LAX I've found better deals on major carriers. In 2018, $400 RT.

This isn't a bad deal but I regularly get less than 700 from NYC direct. I wholely recommend Taipei, it's a really nice place.

theres nothing in Tucson..just UofA..sorry UArizona stranded students

You got out of Tucson just in time

Seen their merit scholarships? Their package is insane..everyone gets some scholarship ...even 3.5 GPA gets at least 10k in scholarship ...but ASU gets most students because of latest rankings where it takes 1st spot as best university in AZ...

I confer. SLC as of a decade or so ago is a tough airport. You basically have to get out of here first to find good fares.

3 days? You must have not talked to many folks. A ton of English speakers in Taipei.

From Boston, I can't find anything under $950.
