It has been at this price at least for weeks. The poor reviews keep me away from it.

Some of the poor reviews seem to be the result User Error. Real Tool Reviews addresses setup in a very detailed video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNEaRvUTj3M. Overall, they were pretty impressed with it.
Definitely in for one at this price. Thanks, OP!

It's definitely not just user error. The hardware seems fine but the app is a nightmare. I bought a few of these modules and returned them the next day. This platform has been dead for years, they're just still trying to clear stock.

Also notice it requires a headphone jack to use it.

Save yourself the hassle and get a normal gun-style infrared thermometer for $15 that you don't need to connect to your phone every time you want to use it.

The main problem is lack of app update as this is a very old product. Most of the post 2016 reviews are negative.

Does anyone know if these Phone Works products will work with a lightning to headphone jack adapter?

Can't say for sure, but I wouldn't count on it since Ryobi hasn't been developing this platform for years.

This is a product from 2014. It does not even work well with iPhone6 when it still has the headphone jack.

Even if it was a good product.....$6.46 shipping kills the deal.

Just watched the youtube video (from 2014) on usage of the thermometer which uses a 3.5mm jack, so no way of using it with my iPhone 11. As others have stated you can get a stand alone thermometer gun for around $15-20 seems a way better way to go.

It did not get sold out even when there was free shipping with no limit last month. You did not miss anything. They do have free shipping for order over $20 right now though and the Ryobi tool lanyard is still $6.99 for a 2pk.

I did spend over $150 tonight on a blower and hedge trimmer but still didn't have a need for the thermometer as I already have better alternatives.

I had one back in the day. I only used it a few times before giving up on it. The app it ran from was the down fall. It was so buggy and so many compatibility issues with newer phones since Ryobi quit supporting it. You can check on their site and see this thing hit its "End Of Life" a few years back. I actually found mine in a tool chest I toss it in a long time ago. I tried to use it on my Samsung S9+ and it would not work at all so I took it apart to see what made it tick. Really cool concept but lack of support pretty much when it was released was what caused it to fail.
