A "play toy"? There is way too much misinformation and bias spread around on SD when it comes to tools which is leading to weekend warriors buying more tool than they need or will ever need because of comments like this.

A good argument could be made for brushed tools lasting longer because they don't require the complex electronics that brushless tools have.

And let's face it, the vast majority of us will not be using any of these tools for the several hours a day, each and every day, for the many years it would take to wear out the first set of brushes. And even if you do, replacing brushes is often a quick, easy, and inexpensive maintenance task.

They are brushless in the two pack but not substantially better. If a dyi-er get the 3 pack, the oscillating tool is great.

As a DYI'er what's the difference between drill and impact models of the 3pk for $150 and the 2pk for $150? As a non-contractor, would I seen any difference?

Expect longer runtime and longer life from brushless tools. For a home DIYer, the combo with oscillating tool would serve you better.

Google drill vs impact driver
I know the difference between a impact and drill. I meant what's the difference in both models of both the impact and drill between both packages? Meaning is the 2pk drill and impact a better model than the 3pk?

Altho dated and not even close to the best drill or impact that they offer, it's still a smoking deal. It's basically kinda like buy the multi tool and get a drill an impact and an extra battery for free. Think i got the multi tool for like 129.99 with one 2ah battery and a bunch of attachments a few months back and that deal was on the front page here on sd. Would much rather have gotten the 3 piece combo and sold off the drills to offset costs

Got it. The 3pk are NON-brushless, while the 2pk are brushless. I'd rather go with the brushless vs getting a tool I already have.

2-pack is brushless - improved tool life, battery life, and power. If you need the oscillating tool I would get the 3-pack. If you don't need it I would wait for a different tool unless you need them now.

Correct, 3 tool kit is a brushed drill and impact driver and a brushless oscillating tool. 2 tool kit is brushless.

Their atomic line is out, now. What can I expect from that?

Are the drill and impact drill with the oscillating tool all brushless or just the oscillating tool is?
